Default Digg chc Diggg chc - Yes upgrading my Music System!!!

Hello Members,
I am looking forward for your help & advice in regards to adding an Amplifier & Sub-woofer to my Palio Car.

My current configuration is as follows:

HEAD UNIT: Blaupunkt Maui MP 36
• 4-Channel Preamp-Out (3 V)
• Sub-Out: fixed

Dammm now i realize that I should have gone for Variable Sub Out HU.

DOOR SPEAKERS: Thc 132 5 1/2 Inch Blaupunkt Component Speakers.
Max. power 150 watts
Nominal power 50 watts
Nominal impedance 4 ohms

REAR SPEAKERS: JBL GTO937 (6" x 9" 3-Way Loudspeaker)
Power Handling, RMS 100 Watts
Power Handling, Peak 300 Watts
Frequency Response 50Hz-21kHz
Sensitivity 94dB
Impedance 2 Ohms

I am also thinking if I should only go for 4 CH AMP power up front & rear speakers which are quite powerful & can save some space in the boot however not sure if that will produce decent bass!!!

Optionally if you think I should go for a sub for THUMP effect this is where I need your real help in choosing a good amp & Sub for my car. (My Budget is limited to 10 to 12k max)

For Speakers I am plan to pick without warranty ie; I will get JBL 250RMS "1000W" sub woofer for 3200/-

AMPLIFIER:

JBL CS60.4 (4/3/2 Channel 60W power amplifier) (Rs: 7400/-)

Or

Blaupunkt GTA 4 Special Mk II Number of channels 4/3/2 ch Class A/B
Max. Power at 4 Ohms 4x120 / 2x400 Watts (Rs: 6200/-)

SUBWOOFER:

JBL GT4-12 (Rs: 3200/-)
30cm (12") Subwoofer & Install an external sound box!
BOX Worth 1400/-

Or

JBL CS1204T Sealed Subwoofer Tube. (Rs: 5400/-)
12" subwoofer

RCA & Power cable about Rs: 600/-

What are your suggestions & what combination will best work in my car? if you have anything other combination not too hard on my pocket its welcome!

Also advice on wiring!

Appreciate & thanks for all your Help
Best Regards,
Sridhar S

tube will give more boom than box. the boxed woofer would have better defined bass though.

as far as the amp is concerned haveing not heard either I would say why not listen to both.

budget is 10-12K

leave these both the amps...and go for JBL 75.4 in grey will cost you 9k and for the sub it is for 3.2k and another 1k for installing both of them....total 14k ....hope you can spend the extra 2k.

Hello digg chc lol. Your thread is getting a lot of attention, because of it's unusual and funny name.

If you intend to take the tube, the 60.4 is fine. For everything else there is Mastercard. I mean you can also consider the new GTO4060LE, it is now in bangalore and flying off the shelves.

The subwoofer in a precisely (according to specs) made box will be accurate and tight.

The tube will be boomy, bassy and fun fun fun.

Cool Mission Accomplished!!!

Hello Gurus!!! thanks for all your help & suggestions.

Here is the update as to what I did to get the Dig chhk digg chc effect in my car.

Got a 2 channel BP GTA 2 Special with BP GTW 1200 sub (EFX RCA Cables & custom box without any ports JBL Design) , entire upgrade costed me 9k flat with warranty!

I felt that I am doing injustice to already good HU & speakers in my car thats why I setteled for 2 ch amp & sub for Thump effect

I am just loving the clear music & clear tight bass effect!
