ramie: The Pioneer has only 2 pairs of pre-outs. So if thats ok based on the current setup, the Pioneer should be fine.

google up and you can see that when it comes to hi-end units nothin catches up with clarion HU.

I have never heard or seen one though.

Alpine is best overall and Pioneer is the best for the price.

How much does the AVH-P5750 cost?

And the AVH-4950DVD?

I think this is essential in bangalore's crazy traffic. Need to budget for one

So how much again?

Exactly. Besides Ramie, I am very partial to Clarion. For your info, the new model is VRX935VD.

Not only do I like the sound of clarion, this unit has a 4V pre out, with front and rear and sub pre out. If it was I, I'd take the Clarion.

I love Alpines. Used to love something else earlier.

And Clarions are great when it comes to high end units. Especially their DVD units are simply great. I haven't owned one yet, but some of my friends and relatives say so.

Avoid Pioneers if You're not very much in love with it. Not that They're bad. It's all in the mind.

Ramie, If you must take full advantage of the VDP1, you should use the 7950DVD or the 6850DVD. The VDP1 has a mainly a black box, a GPS antenna, an IPBus cable and a video bus cable that connects to the HU.

once installed, the unit will enable a new VDP menu in your HU, within which you can customise your choice of information ranging from accelerometer, speedometer, tachometer, voltage, torque, slope, angular velocity and much more. You can choose to view this information in analog guage mode, or digital mode or virtual mode.

We have installed the VDP1 and though it promises a lot, we are yet to get it working perfectly.

Wouldn't this require a hook-up with the engine ECU? Where else can this information be generated from?
