1. Your Car: 2008 Hyundai Verna Sx 2. Your current setup (If any): Stock Hyundai Kenwood System with Stock Speakers 3. Your Budget: 15000-20000 4. Do you drive most of the time or is it chauffer driven? Always Self Driven 5. Your Music preferences (Genres, favorite artists, etc.): Rock, Classic Rock (The Beatles, Rolling Stones) with occasional bouts of hip hop and party rock/clubbing type music when with friends (LMFAO, David Guetta, Black Eyed Peas) Additional Information: 6. Are you ready to sacrifice your boot space/modify door panels? : No The only thing i need in my head unit is the ability to connect via USB to my cell phone, or aux input, whatever has better sound. Don't need fancy things like bluetooth, etc. Heck, I probably don't even need CD's. The front left speaker has gone bust, crackles at loud volume, front set definitely has to be replaced. Also I'm a complete noob, my first time doing an ICE change from stock ![]() Thanks for any help guys. Last edited by kadanaJ : 25th December 2010 at 10:25.

gadget, Since the boot is sacred, I would recommend a HU (7K with 2 preouts), a 4ch amp (6K), a pair of 6" coax in the front (components if minor modifications tot he door are acceptable), and a pair of 6x9 on a MDF rear tray. The Speakers should cost you about 9-12K the rest you could spend on damping (2K), wires (2K), Install, etc..

Yes the swift's doors will take 6" speakers but a 6" speaker ina door does not have the bass response of a 6x9" in a trunk/hatch. HU: Pioneer, JVC, Kenwood, etc.. Speakers: JBL, Blaupunkt, Alpine, etc... An amplifier will help overall response and especially bass definition and occupies very little space.

For your music taste, I'd suggest the following config HU - Kenwood (5k) Front Components - Morel Maximos (6k) Amplifier - Kenwood M845 (5k) Sub - Blaupunkt GTw 1200 / JBL GT5 / Bull Audio (4k) Damping - Noisekill (2k) Wiring Kit + Install (3k) Contact Bass&Trouble (Ajay) in Mumbai and I'm sure you'd be able to ICE the Swift the best possible way in 25k. Cheers! | |

hey guys! i have one more question.. the dealer said that even though i am installing components in the front, and 6.5" coaxs on the rear door, the dealer suggested that i install pioneer 6x9s on the rear parcel tray? he said else sound will be too boomy. what do you guys suggest?

LOL The dealer has a funny logic. 6x9s produce more bass than 6.5" round speakers in the doors, and that bass is boomy and doesn't go as low as a sub. How can the round speakers in the door make the low end boomy and not the 6x9s??? Since you are putting in a sub, it is OK to have 6.5" speakers in the doors. I would avoid the Pio sub, which in itself is boomy even in a sealed box. Better get a JBL, Blaupunkt, Bull, etc. sub in a sealed box.

so should i not install the 6x9s? I didnt know pio subs were boomy. thanks for the input. Boomy according to me is when the bass is too loud and 'flabby' am i right? are you saying that a JBL or Bull will be more tighter and accurate? and what do you guys say about the pioneer 5250? plus the dealer said that he has focal components for 4800. fake right?

The dealer is trying to push the products where he gets max margin. Nothing bad in it, but at the end, you won't be satisfied. I'd say, head over to someone knowledgeable who understands and then recommends. Lil pricey? Yes it'll be but you'd be more than satisfied. Pioneer 5250 is a good HU, lot's of features but do try to audition the same setup with a similar priced Kenwood HU and then choose the one you like. For classic rock and Indian classical, you need speakers that are non-fatiguing which Focal won't be. Check out Rainbow Titans, Morel Maximos, DLS C6A, Bull comps. All of them should suit your taste. Drum-n-Bass is again far complex than your average single note bass tracks, so get a sub that goes sufficiently low, say 35-40 Hz and at the same is quick and tight. Head over to Ajay in short ![]()
