| Hi All, I looking for setting up ICE for Santro Xing. This will primarily be used by my dad and occasionally by me. Currently there is no HU or speakers installed. I started searching the forum for Santro specific setups. Read through many posts and especially the JBLfy thread and what ice @ what price, got confused to the maximum extent possible and have started a new thread ![]() My requirements are as belows 1) My budget is <=20K. 2) We dont want to lose much of the boot space since its already limited in Santro. So unless you can suggest a small sub which wont steal my boot space, I can do without the sub. 3) Need a front centric sound setup. 4) Would like to place the speakers in the default speaker location provided by manufacture. 5) Will not be upgrading the ICE for next couple of years unless I become filthy rich before that (which I dont think is going to happen anytime soon :() 6) Since I wont have the privilege of having a sub, I would like to have speakers which can handle/generate good amount of bass at decent volumes. 7) I mainly listen to music with good bass(sadly w/o sub, I will have to change my taste during the visits). My parents like lite music. 8) For HU, I would like it to have USB, ipod connectivity along with removable face plate. 9) I have no preference for any particular brand. I like to pay for performance and not the brand name ![]() I am yet to start searching for it locally. So would like to have some details (including price - with and w/o B&W) before I start understanding what the dealer/installer is offering me. I have option of hunting for the parts in Blore/Mysore/Mlore. So gurus, experts and fellow tbhpians, please get going and provide me your valuable inputs. Thanks askids |

Front components and rear 6x9: 9K (JBL's CS series might be your best bet here) Sony 554 amp: 5K total 24K. It is a bit over budget but with an amp your speakers will sound nicer.

| Senior - BHPian | People in Bangy also get JVC 4 channel amp for almost the same rate. You can go for co-ax at back on stock location( 5.25 inchers). If you dont want someone to cut your door pads then 4inch co-ax or compos( but getting 4 inch compo can be tough). Atleast get 5.25inch compos for front now even if you have to skip the amp for now.

| i have read that 5950 is usb ready only..i mean to say that it still needs a usb adapter cable which will cost another 3-4K. Where as 7950 already has the it builtin and usb drives can be used directly. If that's the case, wont it be better to go for 7950 @ 9K rather than going for 5950 @ 7K + extra for usb adapter cable? |

I recommend you pick up the CS 60.4. Also if you wanna save boot space , check this install here done by Satya.

| yeap... both need a cable..the shop i went to enquire told 5950 is USB ready but some thing must be adjusted , so he needs to sent it to Pioneer authorised dealer to get it done. but 7950 does not require that. 7950 comes with the cable. where as for 5950 we need to buy it. and usb adapter cable which will not cost 3-4K. max it may cost somewhere around 500Rs. |
