| BHPian | Hi, I recently bought an Aveo 1.4 My take on the Aveo: http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/long-t...-review-2.html (An Aveo 1.4 Review) I got the following components installed from Driven's in East Of Kailash. HU: Pio 5950 Rear Speakers: JBL GTO937 Front Speakers: 4" company fitted (will replace with components later) Amp: JBL 60.4 Sub: Currently testing Pio 307D2, earlier tested Pio 306C for a week Custom made MFD box Power Cables: Tsunami The guys took a lot of time to fit the system and I feel they did a very good job with the installation. Although I am reasonably happy with the current sound, I would like to know whats settings(amp and HU) would be ideal for this setup. I listen to all kinds of music, ranging from Jazz, Instruments, Hop Hop/RnB and the usual hindi/punjabi stuff. The audio accessories guy suggested the 306 over the 307 to me as he was quite confident it was much better. So I tried out the 306 for a week, played quite a few songs of different genres and with the current Amp setting (which I have no clue about) and some adjustments in the HU, the sound output though powerful, felt a little boomy to me, in other words the bass I felt wasn't tight enough at times. Yesterday, got the 307D2 fitted in the same MFD box. With the same settings, my observation is that the bass is much tighter now, but somehow the power of the 306C is missing. So if I compare the two, I would say the 307 sounds better to me, but the lack of power (although its 200 watts pmpo more than 306) is bothering me a little. Would really appreciate if you guys can suggest the ideal settings so that I can get my setup tuned better. Also suggest me which one is a better sub-woofer of the two with the right tuning. Thanks. what amp are you usind to drive the sub? your sub is a dual 2 ohm sub right? i had a 306c in my earlier install and it is powerful. i havent heard 307 so cant comment on its performance. the bass from the 307 could be missing compared to the 306 because of the enclosure. im not sure about this but i think the enclosure dimensions of both the subs differ and that could be the reason. what type of enclosure do you have?(ported, sealed etc) and how is your sub wired? the best settings for the HU is to keep the loud off, eq flat. cheers clip | |

Infractions: 0/1 (4) | what is 307 D2; 2 2 ohm voice coils or 2 4 ohm voice coils? I think you were using 306 SVC off 2 channels bridged in 4 ohms, now only 1 coil is being used (if 4 ohms) or both the coils (if 2 ohms) to present a 4 ohm load. either ways, the bass would be more or less the same. and yes, enclosures can be same.

| BHPian | Hi guys, I am still waiting for an answer. I think the box (enclosure) issue has been resolved as both the subs (306 and 307) can be fitted in box of the same dimensions.
