Default ICE setup for civic

hey, guys...just bought a new civic...need help with the audio setup..
i have a max budget of around Rs.30,000
need help with the speakers/woofers/basstubes/amps i can install and what could be a good setup in that budget .
i am thinking of changing the rear speakers + amp + woofer/basstube
what would be the best combo or arrangement in RS.30,000
or should i go for a component setup.
i want good quality sound with some thump. i am not into very high volumes but need good bass.
i am considering brands like jbl or infinity. i've heard infinity speakers and they are damn good.

30k is a good bugdet without HU, but I'm not sure if you can have a all Infinity setup with that budget. Yes, you need to upgrade your rear speakers, but more importantly the front. Considering your preferred brand JBL, here's how I look at it:
Front components GTO607 6k
Rear co-axials GTO637 3-4k
Amplifier (75.4) 12k
GT1204T tube or GT4-12+ sealed custom enclosure 6-6.5k
Damping 4-5k
Wiring + Installation 5k
For everything else, there's discounts and stretching the budget.

There is a separate thread on damping:

http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/produc...er-thread.html (The Damping Material and Sound Deadener Thread)

And yes, they're worth the money. You can choose a VFM product to suit your budget.

Infinity won't fit in your budget (You need atleast 8-10k more for all Infinity speakers and 12k more for Infinity speakers+amplifier IMO). I haven't tried RF components, so I wouldn't comment on them. When you say

do you mean you like bright and modern music? If yes, JBL suits your requirement better.

Please remember that above is just my opinion and you should carefully audition and pick up the stuff that you like.

Infinity front and rear speakers would cost you about 16-18K/2 pairs. A JBL amp like the 75.4 would cost you 12K. You could make do with a CS60.4 (9-10K) and use the balance for RCA wires and install. Sorry the sub will have to wait for later. OR...

You could get a sub (JBL GT 4-12 for example) for 7K, it will need atleast 150W which means that you will need an amp like the JBL 75.4 (12K) that leaves you about 10K for front and rear speakers. Infinity wont fit in 10K/2 pair but Illusion, Blaupunkt and JBL will. You will need to use your Hu's amp to drive the rear speakers.

A third option would be to get JBL/Illusion/Blau components for 10K then add a JBL DVC sub (I forget the model number but it is about 8K with box) and 2 Blau GT4 amps (6K each). Use one Blau amp to drive the sub and the othe for front and rear.

hey,,thanks a lot for the options...what do you think whould be the best option in terms of sound quality...wouldn't the first option be best with a woofer ofcourse.
if i get infinity speakers or amps from USA, would they work fine in india and would they cost much lesser than india.

infinity coaxial speakers in the back
a good sub(JBL,Hertz) - suggestions needed - how much is the cost of a GTO 1204BP-D sub enclosures and is it good enough

if you want bass now (do not want to add teh bass later you will have to make do with front and rear speakers that cost less).

you need either a mono block and a 4 channel amp or a 5/6 channel amp (where 1/2 channels are desifned to drive a sub) or yo can make do with a good 4 ch. amp (where 2 channels can be bridged to drive a sub) and use the HU to drive the rear channels.

my earlier post listed 3 options.

1. do you want/need a sub?
2. are you ok withusing your HU to drive the rear speakers?

@ Navin Sir,
How does this sound ?

1] Illusion EL6.1 Front Comps - ~ 6.5k
2] Illusion EL693 6x9 Co-Ax Rear Fills - ~ 5.3k
3] Ground Zero GZTW 30T 12" Sub + Enclosure - ~ 8k
4] JBL GTo 75.4 Amp - ~ 12k

Comes to around - 32k

RCA and cabling- ~ 3k [Say Ichibahn Kit]

goes 5k above the budget of 30k though

@Amey: You could knock down the price a bit if you replaced the following:

2] Pio/JBL 6x9 Co-ax rear fills ~4k
3] JBL GT4-12 sub + sealed box ~6.5k

Reduces price by about 3k... takes it closer to the 30k budget

I have similar equipment in my car, and am very happy with it.

I have heard those Illusion 6x9 in B&T's car and trust me man, they are bloody good !
Pio or JBL 6x9 is good but the difference is only 1.3k,so better go with the Illsuions ?
Just my opinion though

No idea about the JBL Sub, never heard it.
