You do know that Advent was formed after Henry (Kloss), Low and Hofman sold KLH to Singer, and KLH was formed after Henry was formed after Edgar and Henry had a falling out at AR. Many years after Advent, Henry formed Cambridge Sound works.

No Navin, I did not know. Thanks for telling. I've never read much about their lives. Exceptions being Bose and Bob Carver. Essentially my 'heroes'.
But we're taking this thread a bit OT, what say!

I spent my early years around audio. My family is liberally sprinkled with audio nuts (some call them audiophiles). Phase Linear (you mentioned it earlier) was formed by Bob Carver before he formed Carver Corp.

Thanks to various uncles, aunts and their friends I have met a few of the Audio fraternity in the US and Europe and most of what I know I learnt via osmosis.

That I was aware of. In fact the grapevine had it then that Bob actually developed his Magnetic Field Amp while at Phase Linear (at their cost) and then left. This was corroborated by the fact that for the first few years the M-400 was 'manufactured' in his garage!
I'd bought one in 1981, and it gave yeoman service for a full 20 years. Alas, it then gave up the ghost. I tried, but couldn't fix it.

But you are a lucky one! No such encounters of the close kind for me.

Not quite Panky, 3 retired 'sathiaye buddhe' doing spiritual stimulation!!
But I wish there were no peeping toms about. Then we could get truly hard-core!

no offences meant!!

Ah.. well, let's re-cap.
A very shallow box for two 6X9 units. This will sit in place of the parcel shelf. Theoretically already 'approved' by Navin.
All this only if the shocking issues of phase are not the culprit, as pointed out by you.
(Original thread - Gentleman complained of 'loose bass' and wanted to know how to 'tighten' it up with minimum intrusion of available luggage space).
Jolly good!

Seriously OT, but (at the risk of earning TLOTY's wrath) ...

Panky-bhai, why are you dragging the certain "colored baal wala" into this? If you are so suicidal, we can replace your speakers with one of the brands you made up + a dozen TS20 thrown in for good measure, driven by an amp made in the corridors of Lajpatrai Market.
