| BHPian | hi Navin,Sam,LBM,Gunbir and all others, i need some help regarding a possible sync problem with sound setup in my safari. let me ist list the setup FRONT DSK components running with a 2 channel Blau Amp. REAR 2 pio 6x9s and a Kenwood sub running with a Sony 554 now the problem, whenever i change the song,i hear some noise from the rear setup. the noise lasts just for say 10 milli sec,but its there and it looks as if the rear setup responds a bit late so i thought its a syncronization problem i'm using all 3 preouts of my HU Please advise how can i get away with this? is it something that happens often? Thanks in advance |

| This noise is caused by ground loops. I had the same problem in my car, but with the front speakers. Check the following things : 1) Try to change the ground of the amplifier to some other point and see if it solves your problem 2) Try to change the RCA and see if the problem is solved 3) Ground the chassis of the head unit and see if the problem is solved 4) Ground the RCA with the chassis of the head unit and see if the problem is solved 5) Ground both the amplifiers to the same point |

| BHPian | Thanks but i am not sure abt Grounding cud be the reason here. cos i have properly grounded the Amps and HU and i have done it myself. will try to change the grounding points though but i wanted to ask GURUs if this is a common problem? if we do any specific things while installing to avoid such things? |

| Could you check in the Sony 554 manual the method used by the amp to go to / come out of sleep, and soft start? Perhaps the amp is sensing the input signal level (at the RCA) to do some jugglery to minimize power consumption - which is causing delay in amplification. I hope you don't mean that the 554 is constantly retarded - constant delay that one can make out front to rear, which might produce an eerie echo-like sound.

| I have faced the exact same problem in the past ( speaker used to make clicking sound as if a wire is loose whenever I used to change songs or switch the stereo on/off ) and I solved it by grounding both amplifiers to the same point. The ground may be fine, but sometimes due to the potential difference between the different ground points noise may occur. Just try it once and post the results. The other method I used way back was to take a small wire, tie it to the outer connector of the RCA and then tie it to the chassis of the head unit. Also, make sure when you are grounding it to scrape off all the paint from the area you are grounding it to. This will reduce resistance and make a better ground. Or if you can, take a thick wire and ground the amps to the floor panel of the car. Quote:
