| hi, as some of the people here know that am using JBL 607C in my car. now the problem here is that the day it was installed, since then the tweeters have not found their place and and are hanging with two wires. I couldn't get time to go to the installer and have them fixed the way they were earlier. Actually, the installer in question didnt use any of the OEM mounting accesories. I just want to know couple of options regarding tweeter placements using the OEM mounting brackets. mine is Indica. Can someone help?

| Senior - BHPian | The Jbl 607 tweeter is quite bright you can mount it off-axis which will help you to compensate the bright nature, but mount it near A-pillar only. Also try few locations with help of double sided tape before finalizing. Last edited by low_bass_makker : 15th October 2007 at 18:43. |

| BHPian | If you want to go DIY, then you can open the door pad and make a circle with a white pen on the door surface using the base of the tweeter as the circumferance, then make a hole with a small drill near the edge of the circle inside the circle, then expand the hole a little and get it to come to the edge of the circle, and then move the drill in slow motion around the circle, and bingo! you have the perfect hole to fit your tweeter. If you like it bright and have stock mounts, then this will work, and you dont need to be some pro to do this, anyone with a slightly stable hand can do it. Worst case scenario if you cannot use a drill then use a large semi cylindrical file to acheive the hole as marked, but the marking has to be right, and keep tryin to fit the tweeter and watch if the hole is not too big, or else it will not fit. |

| sorry for posting this here, i kinda have the same problem i have a swift zxi, and i had stuck it with double sided tape next to the door, lower and close to where the door hinges meet. the problem the tape gave off the other day and tweeter fell down thats not the worst part the sadder part is that a friend of mine accidently stepped over it and has kinda damaged the tweeter grill bending it to the inner alluminium like thing i dont know if its damaged or totally dead, havent really done a check up as this happened today moring and i had to get into the office will post up a pic to explain what has happened when i reach home tonight i am so sure my tweeter is dead, do we get single tweeter replacements anywhere i would also like to know bext place to mount the tweeters, preferably keep them concealed and no cutting of door panels for me thanks |

| @Ibcool - Sorry to read about your tweeter. The double-sided tape available these days is cheap but terrible. If you don't want to cut anything to fit the tweeters, I guess the top of the dash may be the only option.

| I panky, I got the same tweeters attached to the sun visor's screw !! I intially was of the idea to stick it on dash board, the guy who fixed it for me removed the sun visor screws and mounted tweeters there with a clamp and put it back, Mine is a swift i dont know how it is in indica probabaly the same. Cons : the only disadvantages what i see is if you put your sun visiors down it blocks the tweeters completely! ( But never mind i use my sunvisor only as cd rack!). . pros: With this there is no chance of any cleaner dropping it off while cleaning, No cutting of any grooves on your A Pillar or door sides |
