Default Getting rid of planks in palio to mount jbl gto 937

hello all,
decided on a speaker setup for palio with pio hu 6850-

installing jbl 507c components to the front
and gto 937 to the rear

Getting all this done at sound factor(JBL showroom), lavalle road.

I wanted to get rid of the plank used to mount the speaker.

As existing fiber mould doesn't accomodate 6*9 , they said they can get
a new fiber mould done (remove the existing one)

the new custom made fiber mould would cost me 3k ...has anyone done this before to get rid of the plank..how was the experience ?

Is the cost for making that fiber mould ok ?

thanks in advance

Yeah , well crafted fiberglass costs a bit, but provided its done very well,

Why don't you get a decent MDF plank ?? will cost u between 1200 to 1500 and work the same.

The other option is wooden plank covered with dark or black cloth, with a thin layer of foam betweeb wood and cloth. I have something like this in my Palio. I have mounted 2 - 6*9 and a sub at the centre.

The amp is at the back of the seat mounted in the tilt position.

Check the garage for the pictures.

I have almost the similar setup in my Palio. Pioneer 6850, GTO 607c components, GTO 937 ovals in the rear. Also i have CS 60.4 amp.

I installed MDF plank in the rear to install ovals. Earlier i had sony ovals on the stock plank and the plank made lots of noise.

If you are limiting to 507 because of size limitation in Palio, it is not a problem. Small trimming inside the speaker grill of the door and an MDF ring is all required to fit the 607 speakers.

Yeah go for the 607, that 6.5" will give you a nice front stage.

A good detachable plank would set you back by around 1k. No need for fibre.
