Default ICE for my GETZ CRDI-Ultra Urgent request

Guys,

I have gone crazy after reading so many threads about ICE. I can tell you that I am confused person now hence require your urgent attention/suuport as I am getting my car by next week !!!!(Not in Jan-08).

My needs,
Excellent music set up which doesn't cross, 26K

1. Head Unit - Must have direct USB plug in.
I came to know that Sony has CDX-GT860U(for 14 K) has direct USB
Is this good or suggest any better alternative keeping pirce in mind.
2.Front speaker- Prefer JBL as you guys(TBHP) prefers it.
3.Rear Speaker- Prefer JBL as you guys(TBHP) prefers it.
4. Wiring- any special recommendation ?

Would above make good ICE for my price limit of 26K or you suggest amplifer to be included.

I am in internet till 4pm today, If you can suggest by then, I can explore that in Sowrooms during weekends.

Please guys HELP (The way resolved my Alloy and tyre for this same car)

Cheers
Anju

Congrats Anju! Your wolf in sheeps clothing has come earlier than you expected

ICE -

1. Pioneer 7950 (grey) - Approx 9k and a good VFM option with USB.

2. Speakers - What do you mean "as you guys prefer it."
Ultimately non of us are going to be in your car so buy what you like !

Not that JBL is bad or anything. By far the GTO607(comp) + GTO937(3way) has been a very nice combo.
I think sprocket(koramangla) keeps Illusion, their Electra series would fit your budget. Not sure where you can check out Hertz.

There's also polk, efx, boston, blaupunkt, kicker etc. Its a matter of personal preference and price points really.

3. Wiring - No amplifier here so RCA's/power cable are eliminated. Speakers usually come with ok wires. If you go to a decent installer they will not scrimp on the speaker wires.

P.S : Just realised you mentioned 26k!!! Lol. Here comes the AMP/RCA's/Power cable. Upgrade your budget to 28k get a 75.4 or equivalent and enjoy maaadi

if you do not want to spend more than 26k on ice and still want to have good stuff, then do not visit any showrooms, go to the grey market. go to national market. ask around different shops, but go this specific shop. its misrimal in national market, i have bought stuff from him and its been a year and everything is running perfectly. the shop is located in the left basement. in the left basement the shop is on the right, if you need his number pm me.

the stuff to look out for is,

HU: pioneer 7950usb, i think its around 8800, maybe lesser now.

speakers: i think in grey market infinity reference(infinity kappa was available when i bought, it was 8k) and jbl is available. if infinity reference is available stick to it else go for jbl the size is 6.5 inches.

buy component speakers for front doors

the components i think is 7k. dont know exactly.

if budget permits go for components for rear also. else co ax will do.

dont know if jbl cs60.4 amp is still available or not. if it is buy it. will cost max of 5k.

as far as wires, they are not available in the grey market. the installer usually has the amp kits. if you go to anwar in kormangala for installation he will put efx wiring kit, which is okay, will do but not in the league of audison, monster. the installation along with efx wiring with packing of all 4 doors(not damping) should not cost more than 5k with anwar.

If you want real good quality sound, go for an Alpine HU. Consider a good pair of front components decent rears as fills. Good quality cable and you'll be well within your budget.
My friend recently did the same in his Palio and he is ecstatic.
His is an Alpine HU
Hertz fronts
JBL rears.
He did this in just about 20K
You can even get a decent 4-Channel amp and your setup will sound far sweeter.

Don't spend too much on HU. Get Pioneer or JVC with USB. JVC will give you "Giga-mp3" capablity.
Spend around 6K for a nice amp, and get good 6x9 and front components.

if you must ahve USB in your HU then also consider the Pio 7950 it might be cheaper.

Since you are not use a sub get 6x9s on a MDF rear deck. bear in mind that the hatch hydraulics will not be able to lift the MDF deck.

no need for any special wire. most branded speakers (JBL, Hertz, Blaupunkt, Illusion, etc...) come with usable wires.

s0uljah,, your proposal is more than 26K or less than that ? If less then are you suggesting to go for Amplifier ?(+RCA/Power cable).

Please suggest the price for following

Poineer 7950USB
JBL GTO 607 comp for front
JBL GTO 937 co ax for rear

If the above leaves with some room with Amplifier, then suggest brand and price for that AMP setup....

Naveen bhai what MDF ?

Thanks tsk for suggesting to include AMP if possible.

cheers

1. please listen to atleast 3 brands before you buy.
2. the above combo should be about 21-22K, to add an amp you need about 6K. some good 4 ch. amps in that budget are the Kenwood 8401, Blau GT4,JBL GT5, Pio 6300.
http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/sound-...bl-gto937.html
3. I prefer any marine grade MDF.

Dear Sirs

i am Looking for front components(55-70rms) and rear triaxials-(70-100rms) fill
i had thought of the popular JBL GTO607 and GTO937 combinations, but would like more options cause as navinji and so many of you have stated that one must hear at least a couple options(however all that im being offered is pioneer at my budget)
PLease note that im NOT going to use a SUB so the bass from the rear should be tight enough and do justice to my budget
Budget for only speakers(front compos+rear fill)
=10000rs(Max)

Would also be interested in an AMP 4 channel 60rms (was thinking of CS60.4 cause i think im getting that the cheapest at 5700rs however im open to all your experienced suggestions
Budget for Amp = 6000(max)

Living in south mumbai

Would be highly indebted if you could suggest where i could audition various options without feeling guilty of not buying if i dont like what i hear

Would Alpine,Hertz and Illusion be out of my budget?
if im not mistaken i think "Infinity" IS out of my budget(Please correct me if wrong)

Ali
