I had quite a while with the system this morning while en route to work, it sounded nice. I did not play it loud though, was mostly at volume 3. I raised it a little for a track or two, and i think sub could do with a bigger better amplifier.

Thanks Manson, for your recommendation I will be definitely ewvaluating that. I was looking around on the threads and here are some of the other setups that I could pick up for an Innova. Some of these might be old, so I would like to know what are the better options/models for similar setups.

I have also found out that Sprocket seems to be the best installer option in Hyderbad, Hyderabadi TBhpians am I right?

Also for the in dash DVD it's more for my wife who would be accompanying me in the passenger seat rather than for me. But looks like I might not be able to fit it into the budget.

Perhaps you could consider each item separately so that there is an apples to apples comparison? It is always better that way, and you should make it a point to actually listen to the things you are considering for buying, rather than only going by what others have implemented (as your lists suggest).

1. HU: Pioneer, JVC, Kenwood, Blaupunkt
2. Front components: JBL, Infinity, Hertz, Blaupunkt, Illusion (JL Audio, Kicker, Polk etc. are unlikely to be VFM the way the others are)
3. Rear speakers - need not be components. These can be coaxials of the same brand as the front ones
4. LCD Screen - can be mounted by replacing the center cabin light (usually the screens come with built-in light); you could alternately consider LCD monitors behind the front head-rests
5. Amp and woofer: unless you really really need them, you could keep these as future additions

You have not mentioned a budget, by the way!

Nope, you do not need to replace the cabin light. My installer has mounted it cleanly, very cleanly just before the cabin light assembly. This way, its at a reaonable distance from the passengers, and the front row has hardly any access to the screen.
A roof mounted screen is a better option than having two individual screens embedded in the headrests. A roof mounted screen is quite convenient for the third row too.

40K once we damp the doors and get 3 pairs of good RCA wire.

HU 15K JVC AVX11 (it has 3 pre outs and ipod in but no USB)
Speakers 15K JBL/Blaupunkt/etc.. - 6K for sub, 6K for compnents, 3K for coax
Amp 15K 4 ch amp for 7K + monoblock for 8K (JBL, Pioneer, Blau, Kenwood)
NecVox Screen 5K

total 60K. we are a bit over budget but you got DVD.

I really would like to do that, but apart from COAXs setup for demo really not able to find any place/people here in Hyderabad where I could listen to different setups.

The current roof mounted screen(some chineese build) is setup that way. Will be changing that with a NecVox screen.

Thanks Navinji for the setup. the AVX11 sure fits the bill and the budget.

Visited Sprocket today and got an initial configuration, in a bit of an hurry so will be getting the install done today morning. Will be providing the details in the next and looking forward to inputs and suggestions.

Visited Sprocket today and here is an initial setup that's about 70% final. Budget has pretty much gone for a toss with this, so would need some inputs on pricing and also the choice of different elements in the setup

Speakers

Front - JBL 607c - Rs 6500
Rear - JBL 607c - Rs 6500


4 Channel Amp

JBL GTO4060 (60th Anniversary Edition) - 10990 (Haven't read a lot about this in the forum)
JBL 1004 - 14990 (Is this really required or 4060 will do?)


Subwoofer and Monoblock(Haven't really decided on this, will listen to it and then make a decision, Inputs are welcome)

JBL 1204BR - Rs 12990 (How different would this be from 1204B Which is around 7990 will hopefully get to listen to them both before actually making a choice)


Sprocket is pushing a Panasonic Monoblock that's costing around 10990, but I am not comfortable with that. Will be looking to go with either the JBL 300.1 or any other suggestions from the gurus.

Headunit

Will go with Navinji's suggestion - JVC AVX11 if it is available here. Will also be looking at other options.

Other elements of the configuration

Damping - Wurth - Rs 4000 for all 4 doors (Is this reasonable)
Distributor - Rs 1300
RCA Cables 3 - Don't know the brand Rs 2700 (Please suggest something specific)
Wiring Monster - 2800

Installation - 1200


Total comes to around Rs 59970 with the Panasonic Monoblock Amp and 1204BR sub. Sprocket is giving a 12% discount(Thanks to Team BHP) on that and it works out to about 52500. This is without the HU and I guess the HU would be around 15K and the Roof Mount around 5-8K. This will shoot up the budget by 35% so will be looking for suggestions to cut this down.

I understand that this might not be the best way of doing this...without listening to all the equipment, but don't seem to have a lot of options unless I travel out of Hyderabad.

Hoping to get some inputs from the insomniacs/early birds before I take the plunge in the morning.

JBL GT5 components (speakers, amp and sub) instead of GTO will save you about 15K.

For he monoblokc the Pio 6300M, JBL GT5, and Kenwood 9xx1 are options. I dont think the Pio D510 is available anymore. But try and get one of these for under 10K. Blau also makes a GT4 monoblock and that might be the cheapest option (8-9K?).
