JVC -KD g634 about the same cost ( i think cheaper)

Amp
kenwood 4 channel KAC 8401, Pioneer 6300F ,JBL CS60.4 ( i heard the repalcement of this amp is better) or Blaupunk GT4 - grey mkt 5500-6000 and with bill about 7K

20k is not a very low budget.

take a basic HU around 5-6k
take a 4-channel amp around 7-12k and a pair of front components around 6-10k
take a ported enclosed sub, jbl or blau or a base tube.

if you want heart pounding base, then consider a mono block amp dedicated to the sub and a 15" sub, or 2x12" or 2x10". for this you have to raise your budget.

The GT4 is available with B&W for Rs. 6,000 - 6,300. I don't think you can get Blaupunkt in grey.

Also, when people recommend amps they should mention a caveat that decent wiring would run the person 2.5K to 3K. I know that's something that shocked me, and threw off my budget, but generally someone new to ICE would not know that the wiring itself can be so expensive. Ditto for damping.

HI ,

20k is a pretty decent budget to start with,

i think you should check this out

http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/ask-gu...k-25k-30k.html (basic ICE - systems at various budgets -10K, 15K, 20K, 25K & 30K)

you must go in for

A good HU (with 3RC out) : a good Pio will be around 5-6k
A pair of front Comps : Hertz DSK series/Jbl/Illusion 5.5-6k
A pair of rear Co-axials : Hertz DSK series/Jbl/Illusion 4-5k

20k is very tight. You will have to extend the budget a little or go for some escond hand set.

Magma has listed out the prices very well. However that does not include a sub and you said you wanted it.

Default Components speakers dilemma..

hey guys what does the components speakers delivers?

1)good crispitality
2)good bass.
3)is that necessary to hook it up with amp as there is not much space in the front gate to deliver good booming sound,is that good to spend in components...?
4)what if i go for front co-axials whats the diff in the output.
5)can i connect a 4ch. amp to both components and subwoofer, does this compromise sound quality..

i got a system fitted for my i10 ...
there are big issues with mounting the system in i10 ... read through carefully ...
1) Door installation - Instalaltion dept is too critical ... so if you are expecting a bigger speakers to fit ..then gone... you will be dissapointed
2) Door installation will also give some vibrations
3) Mounting the head unit - u gottu remove a tonne of components and fit the unit - my suggestions is get a 2DIn system and fit them by an expert who has already done an installation for i10...this head ache is similar to verna
4) If you are an ardent fan of ground thumping bass with limited resource then without thought head for a plank and place your three way or way way speakers in the dickey

for a pricey and classy installation
1) take thin line series speakers and install them in the doors
2) use an amp and redirect the low freq to a bass tube at the rear
3) component output can be installated just above the hand rest in teh front door .. will send pictures of my installation soon ...

the system i installad in my i10 - Blaupunkt London Mp37 Head unit,
Thx - 672, thin line series in the front (with component output), THc 172 at the rear ...

strictly should be done by someone who has already fitted the system in i10.. else your car will go for dogs ...

Component speakers come as a total set of 4 speakers ( 2 midrange/woofers that are mounted in the stock location and 2 small 1" tweeters which have to be mounted seperately by cutting either the door panel or the a pillar or the dash). the woofers delivers mid and low frequencey sounds and the tweeter deliver higher pitch-
Now these speakers are crisper than regular co-axial speakers.
However if you not so very particular about the music quality then car co-axials would do for a layman. i mean i was happy with them in my old car.
Listen to a regular co axial setup if you are happy then go for them.
( also remember that the component speakers will reguire cutting into panels of your car)

Yes component speakers perform better with an AMP. You truly appreciate them with amp.
However there is nothin wrong if you dont use one.it just boils down if youre willing to spend, cause with an amp will come the AMP wiring cost which will set u back by 2-3 thousand rs

if you go for front co axials sound quality will differ a bit
to a begginner i dont know how much difference it will make, so i suggest you hear a setup with co axials , if your happy you can go for them

Yes you can use 2channels of a four channel amp to drive the front component speakers and then bridge the other two channels to drive your subwoofer
Your rear speakers if any can be driven by the HU itself.

i suggest if you are a layman and dont want a sub just go for good rear triaxials that offer good bass
Brands like ground zero , lightning audio and JBL GTO937 to some extent

a component set is basically 2 or 3 speakers which are wired through a crossover. the crossover divides the frequencies, so the high frequencies go to the tweeter, the mids to the mid range, and lows to the mid-bass.

if you have a hi-power Head Unit with 18w RMS or typically a 55x4, you can run components directly too.

there is a difference in clarity and soundstage, which is more substantial if you amp them. the components will give you flexibility to fix tweeters where you like them to be.

booms are best left to subwoofer, which you won't be able to fit in "the front gate" coz there might not be enough space.

you can use a 4 channel amp for one pair of components and one woofer.
