Default FM radio signal amplifier- is it available?

I am in Mysore. If I want to hear FM stations of Chennai or Coimbatore, it is not possible. Is there an amplifier available to amplify the radio signals?
Thanks.
Arun

Go for a bigger antenna.
you get an extendable windscreen antenna. which can go upto 2 meters wide.

Tanvir, Correct me If I am wrong. Longer the antenna there are more chances that it will start dancing heavily when the car is moving and will hit the roof very often. And also wont it look odd to have a 2 metre long antenna.
Please clarify.
Thanks.
Arun

@Technocrat, I am having a Getz with this antenna as a default. But it doesn't help.

I am talking about this

FM antenna should be horizontally mounted on windshield. Normally the stock antenna is very small, and therefore needs strong signal. With the above antenna(which is a modified version of that Old time V antenna from TVs) you can get good reception even when the signal is low.

Tanvir, does this need any special attachments/modifications? Looks like you are using the modified antenna.

I am not using modded antenna. I am using the stock one. This I saw in a taxi. It actually sticks to windshield, but in this case its fallen.
No mods needed. Just stick it to windshield. In the city you can keep it short(arms not extended), to get better reception you can increase the arm length.

I meant to ask if its presence is related to antenna in some way. In other words, do you know if the antenna is a powered one (with LNA). It appeared excessive to route a supply cable to just glow the LED for a passive antenna.

Its a passive antenna, the LED is for "show".
If you get a passive antenna of size closest to your required frequency, you will not need boosting and you can catch FM even 100kms away.
for example the Aveo antenna can catch FM beyond Karnal, however in case of my indica, the small antenna gives up around Sonepat.

hi. there's an FM booster available for 900 rupees. i have ordered one. if it is satisfactory, i'll inform you. company claims a 35 dB gain, clear reception is areas of poor signal and a CD quality sound. though i don't think that'll enable you to catch chennai or coimbatore signals. i think FM broadcasts through local stations and not the satellite - does anyone know how FM is broadcast?
