Default Pioneer D691S vs E6996

Pioneer D691S vs E6996

both are pioneer kevlar series. yellow cone.

Pioneer D691S is 2 way.
Pioneer E6996 is 3 way.

what is the difference between 2 way and 3 way. and which of the 2 would be a better choice.
Also does anyone have any idea about the prices of these 2 speakers.
I also wanted to know if anyone has tried out the Pioneer E1076 4" speakers.

Usually the 2 way has a woofer and a single tweeter. 3 ways usally have a woofer, a lower tweeter (you cant really call it a midrange in most cases) and a upper tweeter.

Both tweeters in the 3 way usually only have a simple high pass filter the lower tweeter is allowed to roll off naturally.

I found that the D691S has good bass but no midrange vocals and very high treble.

I think the E6996 may sound a bit better than the 691S. You have to hear both to see which one you like.
