dude i bought my 5050 about 10-12 days ago in delhi for 6800 grey.

i would assume that fluctuations like this are not too bad. prices have definately gone up from a couple of months ago though.

cheers.

Yes Nishant, the grey prices have certainly increased, when I went to buy 5050 for myself, I got quotes of 6800-7000. Hence opted for 5090 with B&W for 8300(warranty for 2 yrs and peace of mind were the clincher for me).

Damn neat man. Just today I spoke to a dealer and he told me about the shortage. It seems 5050 has picked up in popularity vis-a-vis 6050 and now the prices are around 7200-7300 here in Mumbai.

ya u can install it yourself provided u have the wiring knowledge. if you have a n adaptor already fitted on ur old cassette player to connect the new pioneer HU u can directly plug in. but i really suggest go to some installer and ask him to fit it for u. he should not take more than 100 rs.
the person from whom u buy the hu shall fit for free.

go for a 5050 and JBL gt5 series speakers...
this combination rocks and is real vfm....

go for 6050 if you really need more than a 2 line display offered by 5050...

yes.. even i got a 5050 a couple of weeks back for 7k in pune...
but i guess its worth every penny... the fluctuations are bound to happen...

Cyclops, so you mean to say that other than the bigger (>2 lines) display on 6050, all other features are the same as 5050? Please clarify, in case you have compared both the models before deciding.

DEH-P6050UB

DEH-P5050UB

DEH-P4050UB

here are the links compare them yourself, the main difference between the 5050 and 6050 is the dot matrix graphic display and a better equalizer.

the 6050 has the matrix display equalizer which looks quite cool, i first got 5050 for my swift but then after having used the 6850 in my accent dint quiet like it, and exchanged it to get 6950 the very next day.

i say please see the HUs in action before you decide to put those $$ bills down for them!

hmmm... from the specs it seems 5050 is more feature packed than the 6050..

hey I was pretty curious about this direct sub drive feature of 5050 (NA in 6050)... has anyone ever tried connecting a sub directly to the HU-sans amp??? how's the performance...

it seems like a good idea.. no amp.. sub directly powered by the hu...

can the experts shed some light on this one???

Mods... Can we make this a new thread??? Seems interesting...!

sorry.. dint read the specs properly... it seems the features of both the HU's are same... even 6050 has a direct sub drive..

anyways.. can the sub be powered through the HU itself? and how's the performance? and also the specs dont mention that what sub can it drive from the HU.. maybe a 1000w?
