Need Advice: Esteem ICE upgrade+new installs

My Questions are addressed to the Gurus

I own a modified Esteem Vxi- 2003 model, its only me who drives it. (in Mumbai)
I listen to all sorts of music
Trance, Remixes, Jazz & sometimes Pop and rock.
I am looking for a set up high on quality.

I’ve already got a set up installed on my car last month.
Details of the same are as follows;

Pioneer 7950 HU
Infinity SVC Subwoofer Ref 1205
Infinity Rear Speakers Ref 9623i
JBL GT5 Series Amp A604
Earth Quake amp kit AK400
RC cords are Monster Series


While, I am not very well versed with concepts & terms on car audio, reading ICE forums on team-bhp has really got me much more educated than I ever was.
I'll admit am still learning and have a long way to go.



Hiccups will current system:
Impact in the front was clearly missing
Overall treble very low
System tuning not happening.




Now, I plan to get a;
(a) Good front 6" component- Rockford Fosgate–Rs11500 – 75 rms/60 watts

Looks good, has a good pair of tweeters and cross overs.
All 4 speakers will now be connected to the JBL GT5 series amp.
Doing fibre glassing on my Esteem front doors to accommodate these

components.

(b) Mono block amp - Lightning Audio - 12000 (dont remember the model no, though it has the right power fitment with my subwoofer)

These would power the Sub woofer to optimize the impact which was not achieved by JBL amp

(c)sealed sub box - Rockford Fosgate - Rs. 5000-6000
Had an unbranded cheap sealed box which will now be replaced by this to optimize the impact

(C) Cabling - monsters - Rs. 1800
All new cabling will be monsters, hope these are good enough.

My overall budget A,B, C & D is between 25-30k
I have been given a quote of 30000 for all of the above


Queries:

(1) Does this overall configuration look good enough.
Pls give your recommendations on reviews on the above said products, other products available in the same range and things that I need to focus upon keeping my requirements in mind. (for a good quality set up).
I need to make the overall set up a success.


(2) I discovered DVC subwoofers after I installed my intial set up last month.
Was wondering am I losing out on much
Should the mono block and branded sealed box do the trick (or)
You think eventually I should upgrade to a DVC as SVC can never

match the impact.

(3) Pioneer 7950 as a HU seemed pretty good to me (back then)

Though now I felt Pioneer 8850 and Alpine high end HU’s offer much better series
Can I make do with 7950 (or) should I upgrade if I get a good deal selling this one and getting 8850 or Alpine.

(4) Where can I get good tuning done in Mumbai

A good set of front comps are needed. This should take car of the lack of treble you are feeling. System tuning could be addressed by a good installer whenever you are upgrading.

This is not most optimized to drive a SVC sub, for the price. It will just be a little more power than the JBL amp in bridged mode.

Umm, either you have misunderstood something or you're being taken for a little ride here. There is no such thing as "branded Rockford Fosgate enclosure" without a driver.

I think this could be the 8 ga amp wiring kit. The price is official or grey? For a genuine kit, the grey market price is Rs. 750/- or so.

I haven't taken an audition for front components as yet,though i heard RF on someone else's car and it sounded quite good.

I saw a complete rate card for RF branded sub woofer boxes. . .going as high as 21000 for boxes that accommodate a pair of sub woofers

This was at Shreyas Motors at Lamington Road.

The wiring kit is genuine

What mono block do you recommend.
Are RF front components good enough and can you recommend some good installers in Mumbai.

Arrey bhai @flintstones, if you have more money than you can use, donate to a good charity instead of filling a dealer's pocket. And the one whom you are currently talking to is pulling a fast one on you.

* You never had front speakers, so one would not expect ANY effect in the front, nor was there a possibility to tune the system

* Since you already have Infinity at rear, go for the Infinity Reference series 6020c components in front. These should cost you around 9K, and are comparable or better than the Rockford Fosgate ones.

* Your Infinity Ref 1205 is a good sub. The "cheap local" sealed box would only look bad, as long as the internal volume is as per the recommendation given in the sub manual. Check again - it is not likely to be THAT bad, since the problem was under-powering of the sub

* Retain you existing sub box, and get a JBL 300.1 or 301.1 monobloc. If you don't find that, look for a Blau, Alpine, Pio monobloc rated >= 300W rms at 4ohms. These should give you the punch that you were missing, driving the sub with 120W rms.

With less than 20K, you would achieve a better system than the dealer was suggesting. All the best - may wisdom be with you.

Flint you are asking a great installer from where to get the installation done.

1. does your HU have TA. if not I'd suggest getting one that does. Your subw ill integrate with the front speakers better and will aid you getting the "impact" you are looking for.

2. B&T also installs. Dont you B&T?

Though he's given me some real sound advice.

Well, nowadays only assisting dealers with installs. Only extremely high end ones undertaken at our end.

TA = Time Alignment. Only a few HUs provide that. Time alignment makes sure that low and high frequencies arrive at the same time at your ears even though they may be emanating from speakers not kept together, like sub kept in the boot but tweeter on the door.
