What?!!!
We at ICE consider the guy who has a 10K budget as important as the guy who has a 10L budget.

One the first installs I saw when I came to India was a 118NE with a stereo that cost 5L and this was pre-CD. The speaker wire alone cost 50K. So Bhagwan give us ICE guys some credit.

Cool

My suggestions:

- Dynaudio Sys 242 + Genesis Dual Mono : Match made in heaven... dynamic, warm and detailed. Our favorite.

- Focal + Audison : Focal is fast and detailed, and Audison tames the upper midrange and tweeter. Again a nice combination, can border on aggressive at times though.

- Hertz Mille MLK2 + Audison VRx : Warmth, midrange detail, "sweet" sound.

Respected Sir,

I am thankful to you for kind suggestions.
They would be nice.

However, I would like to 'listen' to them in installed cars before I buy & try to install.

That is the 'punch line'

Demo / Audition

Where can I listen ?

I will decide what I like or what floats by boat only after I have 'sailed' in a boat.

Currently these are jus fancy names. Good Products, I am sure. But the fruit of the pudding is in the eating.

I stay in Mumbai. I am willing to travel anywhere in Mumbai at a time that you suggest to go and listen to any of the ICE Installs that you may have recommended.

How may I proceed ?

Many Thanks.

I would mostly agree with Navin here.

I have been a big fan of MB Quart but in recent times have been a bit disappointed. Heard several Q line based systems that didnt quite sound upto the mark. Maybe it was poorly installed, because I dont see any other reason for the quality to have deteriorated since they are still manufactured in Germany, but who knows.

There are many Steg installs in Bombay that I can organize for you to listen to, using a wide variety of speakers like Illusion Audio, Dynaudio 242s/ 240s, MB Quart Q lines, Diamond Audio etc. as I have already mentioned to you.

Navin Sir,

This is a very very nice stance & it is appreciated by me. This is what makes me proud of being a part of this forum !! Keep up the good work.

Sir, I have never been blessed with an opportunity like this. Maybe 'almighty' may provide me with a chance & I shall surely relish it. Maybe I am not ready for it; My ears are not 'tuned' to it.

@Bhagwan - Could you please tell what's the audio setup you are listening at home? Would really like to know the components used by a guy who is so serious about music and love high-end stuff. As you said, I hope it will help to learn some good components and their strength. Anyway please post it if you feel it is OK.

Sir,

I have addressed this earlier - same thread -

I shall copy it again for your kind reference :-

I just placed an adhoc budget of 100/- K
If I said any less, I would not get suggestions;
If I said any more, then I may have been laughed at - cost of car is 4.5 L & I may land up spending 2 L on the ICE

Always remember [at least that is the rule I go by]; Budget is a 'mind set'
If you like & believe in a 'philosophy' price points become circumspect.

What I meant is that we dont ridicule 4L systems in 4L cars. Why I think our favourite mascot (the Google Meister) has a 4L system in a 5L car.

BTW I believe you may have heard the 118NE system too. I would suspect you'd know the owner. :-)

@Bhagwan - my post was held for moderation and by that time you sent the list. And you are playing with a hell lot of amazing stuff. What about LPs, tapes and tube amps? Hope you have played with them too. Hope you have settled with components for ICE by now.

Talking What I have in my cars !!

Hi Navin !!

Quote:
Ajay, hint: I believe Bhagwan has MBQ in his car! :-)
Sir,

I have Illusion Carbons Comps + 12" Carbon Subs
MB QUart - Q Line Comps
GZ - 12" Subs
Multiple sets in front & back.
Driven by Steg Amps - [7 of them] & Audiobahn Amps
Batteries are Optima - Yellow Tops - etc.

The Skoda that you spoke about - was mine -
That car is sold, have an RS now.

Basically, I do not want to install any more of the same;
The sound is good - no complaints, but I want to listen to other gear before I take the plunge.

I would be keen to listen to Morel & Hertz and the other few I mentioned above.

I install the cars on my one & take 15 + days to finish an install.

All sub enclosures are custom manufactured by be; Double Wall - Box in Box & Ceramic & Butamine Lined etc. Each box [sub enclosure] is carefully
calibrated & weighs in @ 40 kgs each for the Swift [Total = 80 kgs] & 73Kgs for the RS.

This install will not have any rear component.

Only front + subs [yes plural]
It will be a 'clamp shell' 'issobarik' loading in a rather small enclosure 1.28 cft. 2 woofers - 12" each.
