Default Landed up in changing the whole ICE!! please help

hello gurus,
earlier i had a jvc hu connected with ipod. then i got a combo offer of philips dyanamo and 12" sub. please refer my earlier thread

http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/produc...-me-out-5.html (Hanging over the EDGE with Philips Dynamo Amp + Subwoofer 12". Please help me out)

after a lot of mixed suggestions and confusions i finally changed my whole ICE.

this is what i put in my alto.
1. Pioneer 5050UB HU - 6300RS ( 1 year full replacement dealers warranty)
2. JBL GTO937 rear 6"x9" ovals - 2450rs ( B&W, 2 years company warranty with card)
3. Sony 2 channel amp- 3500rs (2 years sony india warranty with bill)

along with the above stuffs i have also put the existing philips dyanamo 2 channel AMP and 12" sub.

but i just wanted to buy the PIO 5050 and JBL gto 937 , and wanted to run the philips sub on the dyanamo itself.
but then the dealer wasnt agreeing with me. he forced me to buy the sony amp to power the sub and then he put the rear JBL 937 on the dyanamo amp.
According to him the speakers are 2 ohms and pio gives 4 ohms. so there is mismatch. and he also said the dyanamo cannot take the load of sub with pio and will trip from time to time. also the pio IC will be under loads and there will be damage to the pio as well as dyanamo amp.

so now my sony 2 channel amp runs the 12" sub and dyanamo runs the JBL GTO 937.
also i have noticed that the sub sounds good with reverse setting than the normal setting. why is this happening.

can gurus please throw a light on what has happened with me. was the dealer right in forcing me to go for one more amp, or has he taken me for a ride.

please find the sub snap below. some say that box is too big some say its okay. i am still confused.

I dont think there was a need to buy that amp. The sub enclosure is damn big.

Looked big for me. Maybe Gurus can tell correctly. Was it designed based on links/dimensions posted by someone here? And if so hope you followed it.

instead of going for all this, your system could have been:

Pio 5050 - 6300
JBL 937's - 2450/-
Kenwood 8401 4channel amp - 5200/-
Pio 307/kenwood 3009 Sub (in sealed enclosure) - 3500/-
some good wiring - 1000/-

thats is Rs.18500/- for a good SQ,and your current setup might be roughly Rs.17000+ if i am not misteken.

EDIT:If possible face the subwoofer side towards the boot, and a small slot of 10"inch x 3inch on your speaker wooden plank will make it more good.

Cheers..

i cannot spend any more. nor can i reverse what i have done. i am about to panic now.
@ jkd, i didnt follow any instructions for the desing of box. infact i dint have any in the manuals. i took what the dealer said to be good. but its true there is lack of crisp punch.
can u give me a correct design.

^^

Does that woofer even come with T-S parameters that we are speculating so much about the enclosure size?

i spoke with the philips R&D guys just now about the enclosure design. they said they will mail me the drawings of the box and the snaps of their tested boxes which they claim gave a best performance.

i changed the HU and the rear speakers. also added a new sony 2 channel amp. when i go for the compo can i run it on HU, or i can run the Rear JBL in HU and spare one amp for compo?

ive tried running the 937s on pioneer 6950IB and 7950UB.till a certain level its clear but once you put more volume it starts jarring as if it needs more power, but on the amp they run just crisp with better sound quality.

Just ask them to mail you the T-S parameters and we'll do the R&D on their behalf.

Amit, if I remember correctly, I asked you to not be in a hurry and get the head unit changed and front comps added until you were dead sure what is exactly causing the bass problem. I suspect it has everything to do with either a.) the quality of the sub or b.) the power supplied to it or c.) both. So hold all these future plans until you atleast get that sorted.
