Hows this for ICE for my soon coming RS

Front Speakers to be retained

Middle Speakers ( near the rear door latch to be retained )

The Head Unit ( Alpine 9830) to be retained

Changes :

JBL or Kicker Sub / Bass tube ( 10 or 12 " )

JBL components for the rear

Mono Blaupunkt Amp for the sub - Blaupunkt


A two channel Amp Blaupunkt / Kicker for the rear components


Please advice my budget is around 50000( not even a rupee more)

Why Components in the rear & stock speakers in the front? Will you be driving the car yourself or are you going to be driven around in it?

And any specific reason for choosing Kicker? I don't know much about ICE but from what I gather there are better products than Kicker available at a similar price point.

I will drive myself. Not driven around.

Well someone told me about the fact that the front speakers are components only and are good enough but the rear ones are not good quality.

i was recommended Kicker by a friend. please advice me if anything better in same price

Also someone please tell me prices for the
1. JBL components for the rear.
2. JBL Sub 12 inch
3. Kicker Sub 12 inch
4. Mono Blaupunkt Amp for the sub
5. two channel Amp Blaupunkt / Kicker for the rear components

I would any day recommend a 6.5 inch component kit in the front and a sub in the back (not in tube) and a 4 channel driving them both.

Kickers are SPL I think. They play really loud. But, I like.

A 10" Kicker cost me around 10k about an year back.

The Middle speakers are really just a tweeter, the woofer for this tweeter is in a pod behind your ears.

If I had 50K this is what I would do...
1. Keep the 9830

2. Damp front doors with something like Noise kill 4K

3. Upgrade front components to JBL/Blau/ etc..6K

4. Get 2 4ch amps for 14K (Kenwood, Blau, JBL, Pioneer etc all make one) bridge 4 channels (out of the 8 channels you get) for use with 2 subs.

5. Get 2 10" woofers fro JBL/Blau/Ground Zero 12K - look at Bhagwan's RS install pics he has a box for 2 woofers (ok Bhagwn isusing a woofer with a passive radiator but the box design can be the same).
2 10" woofers are lighter and easily driven by 150W rms that the 4 ch ap will deliver. 10" woofers need a smaller box than 12" woofers hence you can get by with a 2.5 cu. ft. box (say 30" width x 14" height x 12-16" tapered depth). installed snug against your rear seat.

6. Get a pair of coax in the rear pods and dummy the front tweeters they really dont help the sound 4K

7. 3 pairs of RCA wire (Audison, Monster, etc.) - 6K
8. Good Power cable 4 GA from battery to dist block, 8 GA from dist block to each amp. - 4K

the front speakers and rear speakers are components. the rear speaker has a woofer behind the rear seat and the tweeter in the rear door.

if you see my earlier post i suggested 2 4 ch amps. this will give you 8 channels of power.

I have linked just one of these below, the specs of the others (JBL, Pioneer, Blaupunkt) are comparable
Kenwood - KAC-8404

as you can see you will get about 4 x 50W rms. When 2 chanels of any of these amps are bridged it will give about 150Wrms. So if you bridge 4 channels (out of the 8 channels) you will get 2 x 150W and 4 x 50W. Use the 2 150W channels fo the 2 10" subs (150W is a bit shy for a 12" sub) and use the 4 50W channels for the front and rear speakers.

BTW just to inform you there is a cheaper Sony amp also available in India. While it has adequate power, many at TBHP find it a bit grainy so beware of this. Also many at TBHP have had problems with BOSS and other such "unbranded" RCA wire. It is safer to stick to better brands like Audison and Monster. In some cities Ground Zero RCA cables are also sold, I am not aware about where but Bass&Trouble (TBHP member) will know more about this.
