Default Indica Xeta ICE upgrade

Well. err. Ahem!! Here I am the newest entrant to the "Endless Pit". A brief history first : Back in 2006 when I purchased this car, I had decided to buy a "Complete" sony set( No stinkers D).
I got
a Sony Xplod FX5710 HU,
A pare of Sony 6X9 rears and
a pair of Sony Round 4" Dash speakers (Forgot the model nos), and was satisfied knowing that I was listening to the best. Well, little did I know that "Picture Abh Baki hai mere dost".

Slowly it started disturbing me, Why do the rear speakers bark like a Mastif which needs cough syrup when the bass drums are hit in Hotel California after the opening bars, Why does Kishore Kumar's voice crack at higher pitches for some songs, and Why does "Basket case" drums seem inaudible? Problem kya hai boss. Kuch to hai?
Had other concerns to look into so really could not pay much attention.

CUT TO MID 2007.

Yours truly had finally registered in Team-BHP, but alas was not even aware that utterig the word "Sony" i sacrilege here. Kya karna? Old flame started burning bright. Got myself a
Sony XPLOD XM554ZR 4/3 ch Amp
Sony XPLOD XS-L104P5B Sub

Ohmygosh!! Does songs sound so well in the car. I was satisfied again. I thought this was the end. I don't want anything more. Ok I thought might just need a pair of front door speakers so I bought
A Pair of Sony XPLOD XS-GTF1325B Front door speakers.

Guys you must be thinking of blasting me by now?
Arrey suno toh, "Picture Abhi bhi khatam nahi hua dost"

In Came the three Musketeers Or should I say the "ICE"-keteeers.
ShuvC, Razor4077 and ShuvD.

It took them no more than 2-3 months to make me realise that I perhaps had committed sacrilege to some unforgivable extents, and its now time for atonement.

Toh bhaiyon, I finally startedon my quest for finding a perfect ICE for my Xeta(read eternal bliss).

Replaced the rear ovals already with JBL GTO973
Done away with the In dash and door speakers
The doors are "illusionised" with Illusion electra components.
A JBL CS60.2 proudly powers the Sub( Still the sony)
The Front and rear speakers are powered by the Sony 4/3 amp (Arrey expensive tha yaar)
Already purchased an Alpine CDE 9881 HU, will be coming in August.

A few words of thanks...
1. @ShuvD - For continuously boosting me and egging me to go ahead and dive
2. @ShuvC - For tips, tricks and help in setting up.

3. Last but not the least at all @Razor4077 - Who has to go through the (i Guess Unbearable) pain of listening to the ICE everytime, after a change . He plays the role of the Tester and the person with the final touch.

I must say, All this a has burnt quite a deep hole in my pocket, but man! No Regrets! I was listening to my childhood favourite swhile driving back home tonight.
Wham, BoyZone, Backstreet Boys!! Its a crazy collection I have. And "Last Christmas" & "La Bamba" made my day. Waiting to listen to "Lynard Skynard" tomorrow morning. Also will have Kishore da sing "Neele Neele ambar pe" to greet the monsoon.

Still way to go.
Though the Sub and Amp are not so bad as stated, but I am definite that my 3 mentors will not agree on me keeping them. And also I need to have some damping done on the front door pads.
So Friends , Gurus and fellow BHP-ians. Please Feel free to suggest.
My next requirements are
1. A 4/3 ch Amp JBL GT5(?) maybe.
2. A 10" Sub JBL(?) please suggest.
3. and front door damping.

Congrats for the new setup

Please post the pics of the install.

IMHO you should go for damping first as it will improve the sound and then go for the amp and then the sub

Damping: Noise kill as it is great VFM
AMP: Ground Zero 4.120mk2 (75RMS*4 @ 4ohm and 120RMS*4 @ 2ohm)
SUB: Any particular reason for a 10" sub? if not then Pioneer 307 D4 be a option as it can be wired to 2ohm and will drain max power from JBL CS60.2

Congratulations Xeta. Audition kab milega?
But, picture abhi bahut baaki hai. What happens when you change your car next year?

@ Yayaati - He needs boot space. Hence the 10" sub.

Reconsidering the car change as I might chip in for a real estate.
@ShuvD - Did you say Boot Space ( Nothings left actually). Anything bigger than a 10" sub in a sealed box will not fit in.
Need to go with you to Glix for the damping.

@Yayati - Could you please let me know the price tag for the Ground Zero Amp ?

Right. Get the damping done pronto. I would still say, go to any garage to understand how to remove the door panels. Then get NoiseKill/Dynamat and damp doors yourself. Should be cheaper overall and more satisfying.

@ShuvC - You got any photographs of your baleno, when you were doing the damping? Might serve as do-it-yourself guide for me then.
Also I need some funda about installing fuses in the ICE circuit, so that \I do not manage to set my car on fire.

@Wimwian : You bet they did! Will definitely keep you updated. Are you already hooked into the lures of the S-R-S mafia?

Why am I being included in the ICEketeers list? My ICE is a joke.

As ShuvC suggested, make the damping a D-I-Y job.

The door panels in an Indica are not difficult to remove. You can easily do the damping yourself.

And its going to make a BIIG difference.

if you are using 5" comps in the stock location with the grille that came with the car, then you'll have a lot of vibrations from the door panel.

This li'l DIY thingie i did kinda reduced the vibrations. before the doors used to vibrate at ~ volume 12 on my alpine HU. now it hold till about 18, and the sound has more body to it

@Greenhorn : Thanks a million tons for that. Yes My components are installed with the stock grills. The photographs are really good. I'll take care of the openings accordingly.

Any clue how much damping material would be required for the Indica to damp the front 2 doors, the rear parcel tray and the tailgate

It took me about 50-60 sq ft to damp front doors (outer shell, inner shell and panel), rear doors (outer shell only), floor, boot (floor only) and rear wheel wells.

you would need around 20 sq feet for all the 3 sides of each of the door, i guess not more than 5 sq feet for the parcel tray and about 15sq feet for the boot...so total of 40sq feet. Thats my calculations!!
BTW i dnt think you'll need to dampen the parcel tray if its MDF type.
I dampened my swift's front doors using noise kill and i used about 20 sq feet.
All the best!!
