Bazooka BT6024DVC Dual voice coil 6-1/2" subwoofer tube at Crutchfield.com
this would be an ideal cadidate for an HU driven sub. works with as little as 12W /channel, and DVC, so can utilize both HU channels without bridging

I suppose you could use your creative PC sub , if you connected your HU directly to the speaker terminals , but it wont be a big improvement over 6x9's

Great to hear that.

And one more query. The HU says "4V sub out". What does that mean >?

the pre outs are at 4V level ( usually higher pre out levels means lesser noise and interference )

I am confused now. Nitin - you are talking about a 4v sub pre-out and same time needs connecting to a driver without amp. How is it possible? Or are you going to connect your rear speaker terminal output of HU to sub driver?

I think he was asking about driving a sub off the HU ( like headers did ) and got confused along the way when he saw the "4V sub out" and thought it was about the HU amp output.

Ha ha, after all its my thread. I started it

Yeah a lot of people get confused with the Pre-outs. BTW, I had connected my SUB directly to the speaker terminal of the HU. There was no question of me taking the pre-outs into the speaker terminals.

The mistake I did was to bridge both rear speaker wires of the HU and connect it to a SUB. It worked fine.

Then I removed the bridge, after being made to understand "a little of what i didnt follow" and connect 1 rear speaker terminal to the SUB with not much difference.

Finally, since all you GURUS told me "a lot of what i did'nt follow". I disconnected the SUB. The HU is now with the 2 JBL GTO 937s play fine but with a few squeaks!! They want more company.

I dont think a 6.5" woofer can be considered as a subwoofer. The smallest dia SUBwoofer I know is 9". A few 8" woofers will do a good job to about 35-40Hz but to go below that one just needs to move more air than a 8" woofer.

These things are better off called bass modules or something. Nowadays Multimedia speaker manufacturers have lowered the bar enough that they can get away with calling 4" units subwoofers.
I cant think of any proper subwoofer that could be driven well by an HU
