ICE Set-Up For Indica - Team-BHP

While I was deciding to upgrade my HU to a USB , I decided to upgrade the whole system.

I am deciding on a Sony Based system. What I have right now are Blau MP26 HU, Sony XPLOD 6 X 9 Co-axes in the rear, and 2 Sony components in the front dash - without any amp.

I am selling my Blau to a guy for Rs.5500 as I want USB Port and the Blau doesn't read CDs anymore.

What I have decided is, I will retain my existing speakers as they are well and good for me. Here are the components I've decided to buy. Please correct my decisions and remember - my budget is very tight.

1) Sony CDX-GT470U with front USB port - Rs.6800 - Rs5500(old Blau) = Rs. 1300

2) Sony XPLOD XM-ZR602 Amp - Rs. 3000

3) Sony XPLOD Subwoofer XS-L120P5A - Rs. 2500

4) Rs.1000 for installation.

Total : Rs.7800

So how is this setup at Rs.7800 for a average listener who wants more bass and USB connectivity ? Suggestions from the gurus are welcomed, but please remember before suggesting anything that my budget is strictly Rs.8000 this time.

eek, An Xplod Hat trick

Seriously, there are much better brands out there
For the HU, get a pioneer 3050. should be <6k = cheaper
For the sub, get a JBL/Pioneer one ( ~3k) . Sony Subs are horrible. I had the misfortune to buy one
Amps , not much of an idea though. sony should do

pioneer 3050 does not have a front USB port. I need a front USB port. Memory slot will not suffice.

That is a USB port and not a card slot

A blau 2 channel amp is available for ~3.5K tha should be much better than sony.

The 3050UB is just 4200, I got it fitted on my mom's alto a few days back. It's really good. I'd suggest you go for this instead of the sony. It's also has 2 Pre-outs.

There is also a new version 3090UB, it was not available at the time I went for an installation. Check that out as well

I own Indica and I had Pioneer HU + Pioneer speakers (6) in my car for almost 5 years. I changed the same as the Pioneer could not run MP3. I changed to Sony GT470 + Sonly Xplod speakers. I can bet whatever amount that Pioneer is far superior to Sony. I am sure it would be even better with JBL speakers.

Frankly, do not go in for Sony. I am not repenting on my current Sony, but my 5 year old Pioneer setup was far better that the current one.

The Kenwood KAC-8401 has got some good reviews in here, It's a VFM Amp

hello friends
il advise u to stick to pioneer , i had a full pio setup in my indica with the exception of a 444 amp and it sounded better, than the stuff which i purchsed for my swift, i made a blunder of buying a sony sub, which a soon corrected by buying a pio sub, still gotta do something abt the 4 channel sony amp

and I will advise you to stick to plain English and not use SMS type abbreviations in the forum. Though not sure, think the forum rules also tell this to you. Do read the rules carefully before posting . Thanks again everyone. I've bought everything now. Will get the installation done on Sunday. I got Pio 3050U HU, JBL Subs and Blaupunkt 4 channel amp. The Blaupunkt 4 channel amp was a real bargain - I got it at Rs.2900 only.
