| i own a swift vxi..... i installed jbl front speakers in the door provision..... the speakers are installed with spacers between the door and speaker to avoid jarring...... every now and then the speaker hits the door pad and its vibrates....recently i got the car checked and the guy told tht water is comin into the speakers and are gonna get spoilt.... is there any alternative....or a solution? |

| Distinguished - BHPian ![]() | Hello Shrav What jbl speakers have you fit in the swift? A Standard 6" speaker fits comfortably into the front and rear door and there is no need of any spacers. I suspect a poor install. Water getting into the door cavity in a swift? Weird. I suggest you take your car to a Maruti service centre, ask them to open out everything, remove all your spacers and fit the 6" speakers into the OE slots. Then check for water leakage. |

| i have 5850 Pio HU + pioneer oval rear speakers + 1000wats 12 " Jbl Bass tube + 500 watts sony Xplod 4 channel Amp.... Now i need settings to my Hu & for Amp(LPF/HPF......Speaker & Sub Gains)...plz guide in details for optimum output..... |

| Senior - BHPian | for your amp keep your HPF eaither at 63 Hz or 80 Hz what ever soudns better to you.LPF at 80Hz. set the gain such that at max volume there is little or no distortion from your sub or speakers...thats the most basic way to tune it. otherwise take it to a professional and they will do it for you. remember theres no FIXED SETTING for OPTIMUM OUTPUT.it all depends from system to system and varies according to the taste of different people. |

| Thank you u guys for your generous replies.... Now i want to make settings(Gains) such that Vocal & Treble goes to Rear Speakers &&& Bass Goes to SUB.... So for this, in the Amp Rear speaker(HPF) = 80HZ or 125 Hz? && Woofer(LPF) = 80Hz or 125 Hz?.... Basically i want to know at what Hz(LPF & HPF) the Vocals,Trebels goes to Speaker & Bass goes to Woofer? Plz guide... Thanks in advace. |

Subwoofer should be set at 80Hz or 63Hz. Depends on your tastes. Set the gains between 40% to 70%. Wherever you find a sweet spot.

| Distinguished - BHPian ![]() | I meant to say, keep the LPF of the woofer at anything you like between 80 to 100Hz. Whatever setting you decide on, the same should apply for the HPF on your speaker. If you set the amplifier, then it's ok if your HU runs flat. |

| the only advantage of setting your amp is that every time your car comes back from servicing you dont have to set it again. |

| BHPian | Guys, Any comments on the Infinity Kappa Subs(with enclosure)? this is priced around Rs.15k. Is the enclosure ported? Hope this one does not give too much of a boom instead of some tight bass. Any highlights people.... |

Hi Harmon, I have JBL speakers in my car (Swift) and have the Infinity Ref 1200 (Reference Series) bass tube. I had asked the JBL boys for the Kappa but was told that it was discontinued. However, im pretty happy with the Ref 1200. Is it available in Madras? Do compare the two and let me know. Epic
