If you ask any audio expert they will ask you a simple question... where do you sit when in your car? Do you self drive, or do you have a chauffer. Since most of us drive, its common sense to have your best music coming from the front and the fillers at the back. This is what I have in my Swift with components in the front and the coaxials at the back. Believe me, I love my music in Swift. Its not dhoom dhoom like the Esteem, but one for a change can really enjoy his music. Rest, I strongly recommend going for an Sony 504Z amplifier for 3.9k. This is really neccesary if you have components and a decent HU. Even if you dont go for a woofer, just go for this, you wont regret it. Cheap subs are available at 3k in a box onwards from Sony. Given the choice if on a budget this is what I would do: GTO 636 front and back : 7k Sony 504Z 4 channel amp: 3.9k Subwoofer in a box: 3k Wires: 0.5k And if budget can be stretched: Decent components at the front: 6k GTO 636 in the rear: 3.5k Sony 504Z: 3.9k Wires: 0.5k Make a pick.

Did you try out both Triaxials setup. I beleive GTO636e tweeters also are directional and can be oriented to change the soundstage ( www.Audiofx.com) 3. I am really thinking no about Comps and ampli because of the pricve and also because of the messy wiring. Recommend me a nice feloow who can do it and hide everything ( Amplifier /crossover) and I might go for it. At the Same time I might take up as DIY job. U see I am an electriucal engineer used to project installation( I even installed my AC myself - and I mean the window aluminium brackets etc and not just wiring and plugging in the plug) I had a Alpine HU with amplifier in my Toyota Carina in Sri Lanka and everything was messy with crossovers in door shelfes and amps under the seat. I am not that crazy about the music. I hust want a decent sound from my FM and MP3/WMA ripped from CD at 128KBPS. No need to spend more if I am not going to use it. OH and most important part - My office is 5 minutes from Home by car. So listening to my music only on weekends |

All marutis have a single 3 point wire harness carrying the ignition (white with black stripe), illumination (red with yellow stripe) and battery (Pure white) Use a meter, find a thickish wire thats white and make sure the 12V is on regardless of key position. Make sure you dont use any of the thinner wires as the entire current load of the deck is actually on that battery wire (The ignition is used as a trigger on/off)

Ok Sorry but I'm just butting in for a moment. The GTO636e tweeters are at an angle. The tweeters themselves are fixed but at an angle so if you rotate the speaker while mounting, you can direct the tweeter towrds you. The website is www.fxaudio.com, lol i think you had it backwards there. From the looks of things, your tastes and the fact that work is 5 mins away, i suggest you just mount 2 prs 636e. Least messy and very few people can screw up the fitting. Now comes the really useful part lol Vashi/ Navi Mumbai: You can call Mr. Yogesh Uppal from "BM Auto" they are a very decent accessory dealership, with some decent installers. 9821677077 Pune: There is a father/son team of audiophiles called the "Bhagats" though they have no store, Sumit really is the most enthusiastic installer there is. They carry stock and operate out of their bungalow in pune. Sumit is a JBL fanatic BTW They also do home audio/home theatre and sell monster cable etcYou can call 9890115001/ 9822607684/ 020-26121205 You can install it yourself, its not a big deal. Fitting the deck, well take a look at what vivek's going through right now. Plus, though connecting the speakers is not a big deal, sometimes an inexperienced removal of the door panels might result in a scratch or worse, a crack and a "bum self-kick" I recommend you go to a professional for peace of mind. If you still want to do it yourself, you can ask me further questions, no problem. There you go... All questions answered

| guys, Once I get hold of a decent camera, I'll post pics of my 20k-25k+ (don't know the exact price yet) in-car audio system. No sub-woofer(s), no amps, no component speakers. Intrigued? well, wait for the pics... ![]() Last edited by xezas : 27th August 2005 at 12:48. |

| QUOTE (DEEPAK) Siena 1.6 ELX - Need Advice My car came with a Company fitted Kenwood KRC 389 - Cassette player with 6 Speakers ( 2 tweeters, 2 in front doors & 2 ovals in the rear).... 1yr on...looking for the following changes 1. MP3 CD Player 2. Tube Sub woofer 3. Amp.. What is recommended...?? Should i keep my existing set of 6 speakers & just add the tube sub + amp or a complete makeover ? Budget is 12-15k..( maxxxxx).. Options/advise most welcome.. cheers __________________ deepak >>>>> Just completed Phase 1 - got the Sony 5510X Installed.. Regarding the Speakers still in some confusion..Tested out a Blaupaunkt 10" Tube with a Sony Amplifier...But the rear speakers ( company fitted 2 X 6 inches)..started Rattling..So the overall sound effect wasnt good.. So what do the experts recommend : 1. Shall I change the rear speakers...? What is recommended as 6" rear speakers ? JBL/ Boston/Alpine ? 2. Was suggested to have good 6X 9 ovals of JBL Installed - but that would mean cutting in the rear parcel tray..which i am somewhat sceptical about.. I still have 10k of my budget...yet to be spent.. |

| Hi Ajay and All, I feel so dissapointed. Having gone for Sony 8800 for 14k, I just found out that a shop in JC road bangalore is selling Alpine 9830 for 12.5k with bill and warranty. Ajay if you have not already bought the system than buy it from JC road car market after the Lal Bagh road. This is not fair, as the Sony sound sucks in front of an Alpine :( |
