Hi Sun,

I've just had the opportunity to hear out the Alpine MRP 550 V series amps versus the Pio 307F.

Slim size - very the Alpine is neat, to say the least.

By the demo given, the MRP550 does a far better job as well.

Since this topic was discussed, thought i'll share my recent experience.

What would sound better and be easier to install/connect. 2 ten inchers or a single 12 incher on the parcel tray?

Raghav, getting the 4 6X9s on a parcel tray in a Santro wouldn't be exactly 'spreading it out'. lol.

Besides, it would hardly make any difference in terms of SQ - I can picture an overcrowded setup.

IMHO, it would be better to leave a pair of 6X9s at home, buy a pair of components, install a 4-channel amplifier to drive the components and 6X9s.

The Pioneer 307F is a sub and the Alpine 550 is an amp.

Depends on which 10s v/s which 12. Two 10s will be louder, more expensive and need more amplification as a single similar 12.

4) Also, how are illusion audio speakers quality-wise?

5) Are they better or equal to the infinity and JBLs?

i think gunbir had done an install with an MDF board behind the back seat and the sub firing into it.
brands have their standards and characteristics. you may also want to check out ID, Polk, Ground Zero, Hertz etc. if you have the time and patience. 307 grey se le rahe ho toh sambhalke lena, kisi reliable aadmi se lena jispe bharosa ho.

Was seeing ur pix with the Palio. Recalled meeting you long ago at Crossroads JBL showroom when the Nakamichi showroom was next door. Liked the way you explained things to us and loved ur Teutonic Look. BTW, do you still have that blue circular sound sensitive gizmo...dunno what its called...the one with the sparks...LOL what a description!!!

If i am not wrong for all sedans, the front door can accommodate 6.5 inch front speakers. So JBL GTO507, which is a 5.5 inch will easily fit ( without modifying the door pads)

Nope, the Ford Ikon cant take a 6.5" without cutting away the original grill which is a part of the pocket and some other stuff. I think the stock location is a 4".

My, my 4" is way too small. He'll then have to cut the entire door open to fit a 507
