Your bigger spare wheel can be bolted if you use the bolt of an Accent, as accent has a 5j rim compared to 4j of Santro.

Jaggu I think If you can accomdate one sub on MDF & it still has space for 6X9s then its fine else fit only the sub & get Coax or comps at rear doors(Not Boot Door).
Yup didnt measure, but looking at how the rear ovals sit, i feel i can squeeze in one 8" woofer only, on the MDF (small spacer will be required wcw scenario).

Meanwhile any specific suggestion towards AMP and Sub?

How to wire it, config: Front Comp + Rear Ovals + 8" sub ?

Should i change the wiring also? right now the OE (inbuilt) wiring is used for the 4 speakers.

Anyway i have to do an upgrade might as well do it proper. I will have to wait till new year for changes since the weekends are booked till then.

Jaggu you got a Swift? I dont think even a 8" will fit. the rear deck at it's widest is just about 9" and that will leave precious little for the baffle.

for a swift your best option would be to consider a spare wheel sub.

My existing config:

Old Pioneer KEH P705 (HU)
Very Old Pioneer CDX P1220S (12 CD changer)
Rear 6x9 (Oval) GTO 937 * 2
Front Component GTO 607 C * 2

http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/long-t...tml#post414012 (The DIESEL experience! Swift VDi)

I might change the HU and CD changer for a better HU also.

Looking at the MDF board i feel i have around 3.5" to spare compared to the 6*9 speakers, so am wondering if the 8" will squeeze in.

As another option i was thinking if a bass tube (even a custom one) which is placed vertical on one of the sides maybe a good idea? Is there any rule for mounting bass tube?

Bump on the previous question of wiring configuration, as well as to retain the existing wiring or rewire completely?

How much of Base are you really looking at ? I mean if you dont want to go to sub level freuencies then get any of the current generation of Pio HUs as they allow the rear speakers to be used as small subs i.e. only lower frequencies are passed to rear & they are controlled similarly like a Sub(i.e. all the setting available for sub can be used.)
I am suggesting this becasue I suggested this to a few of my friends & they seemed to be happy with the outcome since they didnot want loud thumps & also didnt want to go for amp & sub. The 6X9s produce some really nice base if used properly.

As for wiring, better wiring never hurts. A friend changed to Monster cables & the results were noticeable & he doesnt even have an amp.

i think my unit also has the function that you have mentioned, i think its Front image enhancing (FIE) function you are referring to. That is fine but it spoils the sound staging is what i felt.

After this install in swift i really didnt try it though, let me give it another try today.

Yes FIE was in Casssete Players(Had this in My dad's Car too) & in few CD playesr as well but the way it is done in new Ones is much easier & more effective as in they have HPF & LPF controls with gains settings

Anyways try it out & let us know :-)

one idea. go to your installer. ask him for a 8" sub *any one that he has in stock). place it upside down on the parcel shelf ans see if you have enough wood around the sub to allow for a stiff MDF shelf. I would expect you need about 1" around the sub.

As far sa you HU and cd changer go the selection is vast and I think you know engouh to choose what you want Right?

In this case we shall have to ask GTO to change his nickname from Jaggu to T_L_B_M.
