| redfire, most HUs put out 8-10W rms. This is adequate if you are not expecting to play too loud. If you find yourself pushing the volume control past it's half way mark an amp will be very benefecial. |

| BHPian | Navin, thanks, but my doubt is, most Pio amps are written Mosfet 50x4. So I understand the amp section is a MOSFET amp, capable of 50W RMS x 4. I know that an HU is not a dedicated amp, but the amp section in an HU (in any device) is seperate na? If the spec is 50X4 MOSFET, then won't it capable of supplying 50W RMS than 8-10W? |

| 50x4 is the maximum power rating, not the RMS power. HUs are rated are 22 w RMS (Pioneer) but even this is at a very high THD (I think navinji once mentioned it as 15%). That makes only about 10 watts usable. Last edited by adityamunshi : 29th April 2008 at 14:51. |

| BHPian | Oh, didn't know that. I thought it was continous power, not the peak power, mentioned. In that case, a 4 ch amp is a must if one want to squeeze max out of the component / co-axials. So my new query - does Pioneer DEH-3790MP have pre-out to connect to a 4 ch amp? If yes please suggest a good but budget 4 ch amp for this to connect to JBL compos / co-axials. |

| I've no idea if the Pio 3790 has a preout but regarding the amp, im planning a similar upgrade soon. Our best bet would be either the Kenwood 8401 or the Blau GTA 4 ch or the JBL GT5-A604. Personally, I'd buy the JBL amp without any second thoughts. BTW, if you inquire about there amps, let me know their latest prices ![]() Quote:

| BHPian | Would somebody please tell me the cost of 9886 in India. My friend is coming from US for a break and I wanted to take this opportunity to get some ICE stuff for my car. I have heard that this requires imprint (read more $$) for full functionality, does that mean I don't have much tuning options? |

| Indian prices for HUs like the 9886 are much higher than US prices. Just ensure the HU your friend gets has EU (not US) tuning for the tuner. |

| BHPian | are there any ways to close holes that were created to place speakers? For example:i wanted to remove my 6 inch rear speakers from the boot wall of my M800?how can i close the space?are there any materials or ready made covers?? |

| Team-BHP Support ![]() | You can use some kind of masking tape, but every solution will leave some tell tale marks due to the nature. So another way is to cover the entire boot wall with rexine fabric |
