| i have some cheap pio coax in the front i think i paid around rs650 for them. I also have tweeters installed. The only reason why i got the thought of getting the 6x9s under the seat was because i enjoy the sound in the back seat. |

| Not much scope for complaining. At that price you would have got Pio FAKES (and the dealer would have made tidy profits)!!! Babu-garu, gift those 'Pio's and the tweeters to the first auto driver that you meet - he will bless you for the largesse. Then, think about the fact that you deserve it and gift yourself a set of decent 4" components: Illusion Electra, Blau ODc, JBL GT5 ... - there are many possibilities. Stop torturing yourself with bad sound. |

| BHPian | If I use a single 4 guage cable for powering both amps, how do I distribute it at amps end? Any specially made distributor available? Or can we buy some components and make one? Please throw some light on it as planning a DIY. |

| Jay, Distribution blocks are available in the market. It will split the 4 gauge cable into two 8 gauge cables. But you have to check the availability of the distribution blocks in our local market. Emperor? |

| Hi Gurus, I have installed a JBL 12" Bass tube in the trunk of my Swift Dzire being powered by GT-5 604 amp. The problem is that most of the bass remains in the boot and does not travel inside the cabin, I say this because when the trunk lid is opened the bass almost doubles up (inside the cabin) Will cutting out a hole in the rear parcel shelf be able to solve this? |

| BHPian | What is the common volume level you keep? I know it varies from person to person, but I need to know, in a setup with a sub and comps both powered by amp, having a Pio HU what is the moderate volume level which is not too loud but not too feable that enables to hear outside noises (vehicles, horn, etc). I just need to check my gain levels and compare it. I think I have set the gain levels low to match my rear co-axs driven by HU. Also how to set the LPF (sub amp) and HPf (comp amp) correctly. I have received advice to adjust them at 80Hz. But I can't figureout how to set it up exactly. Following is the illustration of my amp freq controls. At which angle should I set each (for example sub amp at 11 O clock position). The Blau PA 275 is more confusing as it starts from 50Hz, the mid point is 100, but ends with 250 (from mid to end a rapid increase). ![]() Last edited by redfire : 22nd May 2008 at 13:56. |

Do the same for the JBL amp. Take mid point to be 176~180. Buttt .. I tried doing it this way and then realised the guru's (IIRC B&T and DerAlte) were right. The best way to do it is to sit in the car - preferably the driver's seat if you drive yourself. Keep the amp(s) within an arm's reach. Twist the knobs slowly (if possible, without looking at the graduations ) and set the gains to what your ears like.Edit: Here's the post. http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/diy-do...tml#post696017 (Connecting speakers - Newbie DIY) Last edited by shuvc : 22nd May 2008 at 14:18. | |

| BHPian | Thanks shuvc. In fact DerAlte helped me with this with a similar post. I am almost OK with gain and front rear balance. I just wanted to make sure I am not missing any freq range. I assumed the way you told and set both amps at 80Hz (freq range, not gain) at 10-11 O clock posotion (just before the mid). Hope it is fine. Finding the 80Hz point is confusing with the range which is not linearly graduating ![]() |
