Hey Ajay, I understand perfectly where you're coming from and no i wont misunderstand you. In return you have to promise never to misunderstand me I rarely dismiss a product. Rarely call it terrible, i cannot. I have a healthy respect for all products of all brands. From the cheapest assembled products, to electrostatic panels for the car. I cannot tolerate a product pretending to be something else (i.e. fakes) and cannot tolerate companies that sell you something and dont stick around to take responsibilities for it. I represent JBL in India, but trust me it's not the money that keeps people like me in the business. Trust me, there is lots of money, but we're no Samsung or LG. No my friend it is the love and passion for music and all things in that regard and a respect for all good electronics and speakers that keep people like Navin and me going. It is just my good fortune that my daily bread comes from this same passion. Once that is cleared let me explain in one sentence WHY i dismissed a particular brand. Not because some more expensive sounds better... but because there are better ways to spend the same amount of money. After all size and budget are the only 2 limitations to a good audio system. The rest is choice. I've heard the boss speakers. I found them terrible. At the same budget, I'd rather buy a pioneer speaker. I hope you now understand my dismissive stance. Thats why we're here, Navin and I, to share whatever little we know and to share our enthusiasm and excitement and love for sound amongst all our friends here. Like someone said earlier, we eat live and breathe audio. Cheers

A readymade box is better than a box made here, as it is designed by JBL engineers and attuned to the characteristics of a particular JBL subwoofer. However some people prefer the attack of a free air subwoofer mounted on the rear parcel shelf of the esteem rather than the box behind the seat. I leave this to your judgement. The GTO1000B and 1200B contain the same GT4 subwoofer sold seperately. GTO1000B is Rs 7490 and 1200B is Rs 8990. You could also consider putting a tube in the boot of the esteem. I use a tube in my Lancer. Again this depends on your taste in Bass. Navin: When I return from this tour, we'll meet. ![]()

| ref AUdiobahn: » 75 watts RMS x 4 at 4 ohms » 150 watts RMS x 4 at 2 ohms » 300 watts RMS x 2 bridged output » 4-, 3-, or 2-channel operation » Tri-way capable (Tri-Way Crossover required) Great power specs. Nice looks. What more do you want. get it! BTW aren't you in Miami? Last time I checked it was part fo teh US unless ofcourse the damage caused by Katrina has changed the landscape in Florida. |

| I was in Miami till last month, right now am in Bangalore.......n as you say the specs are good so they should be enough to drive a JBL 500w bass tube and 2 6" comps(JBL) in front and 2 co-axials at back door panels......I have another Alpine 4 channel to drive the Pioneer woofer and the Kenwood ovals ....n the HU is no doubt 9833Last edited by moodswings : 30th August 2005 at 13:30. now listen to me *in my best Don Vito Corleone accent* driving any amp into 2 ohms make for a lot heat capeesh. Better to use 2 $99 amps run into 4 ohms that 1 $200 amp running tribirdged or into 2 ohms. Let see 2 JBL, 2 coax, 2 kenwood 6x9, JBL woofer, Pio Woofer.... you got 8 speakers and 8 channels of amplifer power (Audiobahn and Alpine) why not let each speaker have one channel of power. run the comps and the 2 woofers (JBL and Pio) using the Audiobahn (assuming it is the bigger amp) and let the 6x9 and coax share the Alpine. each channel sees 4 ohms. Amps run cool and offer nicer sound. BTW where are the 2 subs gonna sit? Ciao! | |
