| BHPian | Stumped, because I dont know how to search this problem. My knowledge of ICE is limited to where I insert the CD and how I get the Radio tuned. The HU is a Pioneer DEH 2850. The two speakers fixed in the stock location cost me 1k. I honestly don't remember the brand. Wagon R. My problem: For the past few days the speaker on the RHS is giving a krrrr krrrr brrrr kind of noise. This usually comes in silent parts of the music being played. How do I fix this? Where in Hyderabad do I fix this? btw the setup is about 2 years old.

| if the speaker still plays music cleanly then i might just be some dirt in the voice coil. turn the speaker upside down and play it maybe the dirt can fall out.

| Sounds like either the RHS speaker or the speaker kaneksan wire at the HU is just a teeny weeny bit looj, and is expressing its displeasure on bhaibrasuns! Speaker: If it is a crimped connector, tighten the part that goes on to the speaker carefully just a little bit with cutting plas and put it back on. If you are not feeling confident, any decent installer should be able to do it (I will not be surprised if the speaker wire was twisted around the speaker terminal, which has now become a bit loose) HU: the connections at the back need a good shake.

| Hey guys, Finally, am a proud owner of a Silver Getz CRDi. Now, its time to give it ICE. Have been following threads in this section and have almost finalized the setup. Need gurus advice on the things I couldn't decide. Following are the quotes I was given HU : Kenwood 6539 - Rs 9,500 Amp : Kenwood 8401 - Rs 5,000 Front : Bull 6.5" compos - Rs 4,500 Sub : Bull 12" w/ enclosure - Rs 6,800 Wiring : Kicker - Rs 5,700 Additional sub woofer wiring 2m : Rs 440 Damping - 4m for front doors and boot - Rs 5,000 Total ---> 37 K approx All the stuff is with bill and warranty except the amp which is grey. I'm keen to go for SWWS kind of sub-woofer install as I need boot space for my frequent highway trips. How much SQ drop is there in this kind of install ? Other doubts - 1. How does the pricing look ? 2. My budget is 30K. Where can I cut down as it is far exceeding my budget? 3. I'm totally clueless about what wiring to go for for the above setup? Me thinks 6K for wiring is too much? 4. Is damping really that costly ? What other alternatives are there to this? (Damping becomes really necessary if i go for SWWS) I'm in Faridabad and in all likelihood will get the stuff installed at Driven. All audio gurus... awaiting replys. Naman |

Infractions: 0/1 (4) | naman, given 37K, my choices would've been: HU : Pio 4050 : app 4K (grey) Amp: JBL 75.4 : app 8K (grey) Sub: JBL GT-1204/GT-5 or Pio 306 in a sealed/ported box (depending upon tastes): 4.5K Front comps: Illusion electra 6.1/JBL 607C: 6.5K (B&W)/3.5K (grey) Rear 6X9: JBL 937 : 2K Damping : NoiseKill @ 150/- sqft Wiring : 3K Personally, I feel kenwood amp is best avoided. If you opt for lower brackets above, you'd end up having a far sweeeet sounding system for around 25K. Since you are in FBD, you have other options including Illusion and GZ. You can contact low_bass_makker for details. But PLEASE listen BEFORE you buy ANY product. Cheers!

| Wiring should be around 3k for monster or a bit more for Audison - both of these are good too. Damping: you could make do with around Rs 3k. Another Amp you could consider is the JBL GT5 604 for a similar price (but in grey). You may want to take a call on grey vs B&W as the difference will add up to quite a bit. SWWS: I've not seen one, but have read mixed reviews. If the enclosed space is tightly closed, of the right size, and you don't cover it up with carpeting it should sound just as good as a boxed sub. But with a larger enclosed space, or on covering it, it won't sound as good. I feel you should go for the SWWS and try to control these issues as you need the boot space and the boom. No rear speakers? I guess you probably could add them later if you need to. Any reason for Bull, I mean have you heard about its sound or heard it? @panky12345 is the 75.4 still around? I'd be surprised if it were. Regards, Giri |

I think its a good setup for the price, and you can seriously save money on damping the GETZ CRDI is well damped already,I had auditioned one similar setup, just the compo's were hi-energy,and it had IDQ 15" running on 8401 amp and 6539Hu,There was nothing to complain. ![]() Talk to RANA at driven,BULL wiring kit is also on the way, that should be cheaper (cheap and good wiring kits seem hardly available in delhi)

| Senior - BHPian | The SWWS is a total juggar, I would recommend to stay away from it. Also for the wiring you can go for Finolex cable for the power, MX for RCA and speaker cable. All of the with 8 ga power cable will cost you close to 1-1.5k approx. Last edited by low_bass_makker : 17th August 2008 at 17:14. |

| Hey guys, thanks for the replys. @gunbir : Will get in touch with you sometime. The thing I'm most skeptical about is the SWWS (as l_b_m sir pointed). In your opinion how does this kind of sub sound? Have to discuss this issue in detail. Is it possible to get an audition of this setup. Also, I like tight bass rather than boom boom. So, the wiring budget is back in place. Was recommended a complete tsunami (if thats the right spelling) for 1.1 K. Damping will also be now restricted to just the boot. So on finance front everything worked out. ![]() Kenwood amp is grey and the reviews are good. Reviews for the Bull speakers are also positive. Definitely will audition them before the install. Tentative install date is September 6. Got some time before that. Please suggest other ways if any to save boot space and have a good sub install. How about getting a contoured custom enclosed box in such a shape that it fits one side properly. Naman |
