hey guys, i'm planning for a new setup in my NHC

heres what i came up with:
Alpine 9831 HU
Kicker sub (15") and kicker amp
now i'm a lil confused with the speakers...thinkin abt Alpine or JBL or Kicker(??)
also would u guys recommend compos?

and should i get a 2nd amp(4ch) for the rear speakers or will they work fine with the HU

Well, SM.. Let me tell you what I was told.. Adding an amp makes the sound richer and it works well if you're listening to music at higher volumes. If you juz want pleasant sounding music at lower volume levels, then your setup wouldn't BADLY require an amp...

So its upto you to decide. I like my sound 'amplified' and I listen to a lotta rap, hip-hop and alternative muzic, and so I take it high and need to have it amplified...

In my 'audio knowledge less' language, adding an amp would make a great sounding setup, GREATER... [now these folks are gonna lol me, am sure ]

I am an advocate of the fact that REAR speakers should only be used as FILLERS. I am sure 936 will have a better base compared to the 636, however they will upset the sound stage (in my opinion). I am not happy with the sound of 636 however I use fader to shift the sound stage to the fronts, thus I am not too bothered by its output.
At the present time, I do not have an amplifier or a woofer. However eventually I am planning to have a 4 channel amplifier to drive my front speakers, and a bass tube/subwoofer for the bass. Thus I am not too bothered about co-axials giving me the bass, as I will get all the bass I need from the sub.

The difference between 5510 and 5610 is nominal. So go for either.

However it was a very bad decision to go for the speakers mentioned above. I WONT recommend them to anyone. At that time my brother had got it done in one day! The Blankpunt are so shrill, its like they are made for BATS! They virtually eat my brain out! The pioneers are ok.
However if I was to go for a setup for 12k this is what I would do now:

1) Use Sony HU for 5.5k
2) Front components JBL/Boston/Sony of 5": 4-5k
3) Any co-axial in the rear for around : 2k

Always remember that contrary to the common misconception, one should always have better speakers in the fronts than the rears.

So this makes your total budget to 12k

First upgrade:
1) Sony 504Z 4 channel amp for 4k

Second upgrade:
1) A subwoofer for the bass from 3k onwards

Third uprade:
1) Change the damn car damn it!!!

Also, Exact speaker placement of 606 & 936 in swift needs to be put forth. And, I'll be done with my config.

606 goes to the front door. If going for 936, than you need to go for a tray in the rear. Else go for 636 which can be fixed in the rear doors.

Is it worth that extra moolah? Hows the performance? I mainly listen to Classic and Hard Rock.

Pioneer is another choice in that range, but I would refrain from it due to the lack of B&W, esp the W part

Even I listened to Blaupunkt's Bermuda. Its is the entry level MP3 in Blaupunkt costing 7.5K with Bill and Warranty in Chandigarh. However being an entry level Unit It doesn't hv much tweaking option as you would find in Sony 5510 etc for Rs 5400 without B&W. decide Yourself, Even I am getting one 2moro, will let you know what I will go in for.
