Guys I was looking at options for my 800.. Both Headunit upgrade + speakers. I am looking at an optimum setup.. at a minimal cost as it is just an 800 and not used muchj as it is with parents When I visited the technician shop found JVC head units (never seen that before).. He suggested JVC + Boston speakers make a good proposition and good sound quality. Only that this combo is 1K costlier than Pioneer family. option 1- JVC HU 405 (4800 Rs.) + Boston (4500 Rs) + JVC front speakers option 2 - Pioneer 6570 ( 6000 Rs) + Pioneer 6990 (3000 Rs) + pioneer front speakers. Help me choose guys. Thanks.

| Shan, Pioneer HU anyday and use boston speakers. But don't use different brand of speakers in front and rear. Try and use the speakers for same brand and also from the same lineup.

Hey sam-jb, you can get away with different brand speakers. I have Infinity in the front and a home made 4" component using an Alpine 4" with a Blau tweeter in my wife's sail. I know you guys will argue that the crossovers were customised in this case but I dont thik that is my argument. If you are bringing the soundstage to the front and the rear is really only so that the people in the rear hear some semblance of balanced sound it can work. Using same brand is just less stressful I guess. however one has to remember that the front speakers are firing directly at the listener while the rear are often firing at a glass panel or at the roof and are off axis from the listener. The only rule in audio is Use your Ears. No preconcieved notions.

Wow.. You all seem to suggest a mix of my options 1 + 2 ![]() Boston speakers that I mentioned are 3 way whereas the pioneer is 4/5 way speakers!! Does that make any difference? and how? I actually dont understand what these ways are. Please clarify. Thanks.

shan jp i wonder why yu are limiting yourself to these few options. your budget seems to about rs. 11-12,000. rs. 6,000 for the HU and rs. 5-6000 for front and rear speakers. I would suggest you Pm one of the bangalore boys like mclaren or psycho and they'll not only help you choose your components but also introduce you to a good installer. i am sure there are plenty of good shops in bangalore and a wide varoety of brands are available there.
