Default Classics spotted in New Zealand

A few years back while visiting New Zealand my father spotted this early Renault chugging about town. A remarkably original car, the really creditable fact was that the car was on a long distance trip, and in full working order, down to the early crude lubrication system. The car caused quite a spectacle in the otherwise sleepy town.

As with many tourist destinations, older vehicles are run as 'heritage taxis', or tour busses. In this case an old Bedford bus, plus an old amphibious vehicle was running tours. A handsome old pickup on display too drew some attention.

Also on the agenda was a visit to a small private collection on display. Cars were (expectedly) predominantly English, though a few quirks were also found like that strange jeep (GAZ?)

Just located this thread ...

I am on and off in NZ and currently there at the moment ..There are tons of classics here passionately preserved and used regularly and since i the kiwis are friendly i have made lots of friends and get to drive some good cars .I got a chance to visit the southward car museum ,a one person collection and currently run by a trust he established .Brilliant collection of over 300 cars and 250 motorcycles and i have 1000 plus photos .

Just attaching a couple of web links to the photos already posted as it will take a bit to re-post them again ..
