I believe you tried to access the details by typing in the VIN from the main page. This doesn't work unfortunately. You'll have to click on the link called Parts Catalog on the left menu, which will open a new tab in your browser. You can type in the VIN here, and click on the search (magnifying glass) button next to it. It will present the pictorial representation of the parts. To get the details of your VIN, you will have to click the small i button (one among the many such small buttons) on the right side of the page. Hope this helps.

Hi, I would need a help....

I see in the forum that Hyundai's VIN ought to be of 19 characters
What I have received from the dealer is just 17 IN LENGTH
"MALDH41EMEM020207"
Considering that the 10th character is E - I deduce the mfg year as 2014
How do I figure out the month of manufacture or the manufacturing date ?

Any help is greatly appreciated... Thanks in advance.

Hi! The 19-character VIN is stamped on the metal panel under the driver's seat. The last character after the * of this VIN represents the manufacturing month.

Yes, the year is indeed 2014 as represented by the 10th character 'E'.

The manufacturing month and date cannot be obtained with a single glance at this 17-character VIN.

In order to get the full details (apart from many other useful things) of your car, you can register for free on this site:

https://service.hyundai-motor.com:444/euro5/login.tiles

I can do it for you and post the details here, if you so wish.

Your car's date of manufacture is July 10, 2014 and it is a Bronze-coloured Elantra 1.8 SX, 6-speed Automatic.

Hi RSR - Thank You so much !

Your confirmation that the year & month of manufacture as July 2014...indeed helps.

This suffices for now....

You have been of great help here.

Hi Guys,

I followed Wildon's guide to decode Brio AT's VIN, but I am still having a little trouble.

VIN = MAKDD183HENxxxxxx

MAK=Honda
DD1 = 1.2l iVTEC AT or MT?
8 = ?
3 = Grade?
HE= Aug 2014
N = Noida

I am just uncertain about the 'DD1' and '8'. Would really appreciate the help.

Update: Found this site http://www.myvehicledetails.com to decode the VIN.

The site confirmed that the VIN represents a 4-door Wagon, Automatic.

We have booked a Mobilio 2 months back. Can anyone help in finding where the VIN would be located? Also how do we make sure that the dealer is not selling a Demo / TD car ( since the car itself is relatively new )?

Thanks in advance

Look around the suspension struts to have the VIN embedded or on the quarter glass around pasted on a small paper.

Check the odometer and to drive it to know whether it was used for a TD or no. You'll have indication of marks from the door sill guard, pedals, tyres.
