Enter your VIN here to check the date of manufacture of the vehicle. Also, decoding the eleventh and twelfth characters clearly shows that it's a Feb 2015 model.

Same story with my friend here. He has booked one in June, and now the sales turn up with VIN MAJHXXMRKHFK03199- which decodes to Feb 2015. When demanded a PDI, we came to know that the car is in the yard of a different district-300km away. Mind you - we booked the car in a capital city. Now, we have to travel 300 km for the PDI, as they insist that the car will be driven here only after temporary registration (we summarily rejected their offer to drive it here even after temporary registration). What to do? Does anybody smell anything fishy here?

@itsashishsharma, -- did YOu buy the car at last? Please update.

The VIN decodes to Feb 2015 manufactured Ford Fiesta diesel vehicle. Why do you want to accept a Feb 2015 vehicle irrespective of whether the vehicle in good condition or not and that too, you need to travel 300 Kms for a PDI ? You are investing more than 10 lakhs and so, demand a July month vehicle from your city stockyard itself.

Congrats ! It's Jan 2015 model. The tenth character 'F' represents the year 2015 and the eleventh character '1' represents the January month.

Thanks for the confirmation GD. I found this website - http://vindecoder.eu/ online but it doesn't state the month. That's more than 6 months old. Time to check with the dealer.

You can refer our forum itself to decode the VIN and here's the link to decode the Renault VIN (ARTICLE: Find your car's date of manufacture (VIN)) ( Decoding VIN for Nissan and Renault vehicles are same).

You have given the incomplete code. The VIN for Maruti are 21 characters.

I opened the bonnet today and the last two alphabets are GF. So that means manufactured in July 2015.

The VIN provided is 17 characters and Maruti Suzuki's VIN is of 21 characters. Please check the previous post (ARTICLE: Find your car's date of manufacture (VIN)) for details to locate the VIN. The last two characters ( 20 & 21 ) of the VIN represents the month and year respectively.

I'm sorry, yes it is 17 characters. Typo. I checked with maruthi and the VIN comes with 17 characters not 21.
