Not sure whether to go for this or not.

Thanks,
Arun

Hi Wildon, All,

FIAT GRANDE PUNTO - MCA1134D07029457EMZ

Looks like 1 digit is missing.

The car looks like a may 2011 model.

At the time of booking the dealer (prerana motors, bangalore) had promised a Nov model.
I am not sure what to do now as the car is about 7 months old. Also, the fact that if i dont take this car, i would loose out on the discount (insurance + discount) and also I heard that there would be a price hike in the cars of Jan 2012 models onwards.

Pls advice.

Thanks,
Arun

I got following VIN for my new Tata Safari, and I am surprised to see "P" as 12th character, what does it represent? and how to decode actual month and year from following VIN?

Hi Wildon,

I am trying to find out the month of manufacture for an i20 model.

The chasis number given is malvb51blbm350526 , it is only 17 digits, the article i read say i need 19 digits to know the month of manufacturing.

Can you please let me know what is the month of manufacturing.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Regards

No they are not. When I bought one in May this year and my car was March manufactured. In fact I just checked the VIN of my car and find it is exactly the same as the one you have provided, just that it ends with 685 instead of 793

TSIs are slow movers, but I would be a bit uncomfortable if the production month is more than three months prior to the delivery month.

Yeah, even I am a bit uncomfortable right now. Thankfully, fogs are there. Bit unsure now.
