HI Everyone,

Thanks for the suggestions! I would have the woofer brought and make the box as per the manufacturer's specs.

Could the RF amps be better than Hertz in any way? What about the for the front and rear? Could RF speakers be better? I'm currently on Hertz DSK 165.

This is quite confusing to make up my mind!

Is there a bhpian (in bangalore) with an RF setup that I could personally have a look at?

regards,

Nitin

just going through your thread, i was planning to get stuff from the US but the plan fell apart.

looked at some mono amps
Infinity Kappa one
This ones rated quiet high, so probably you need to change your sub

RF T500.1
This ones rated at 250w rms, think should be fine with your current sub

You could also look at some good quality RCA's like this one

AFAIK amazon generally has good deals

- thanks

Hi,

I still have one major question pending: What would be the difference in amplifiers made by different manufacturers, other than power, build-quality and class? Can we say a particular amp from a particular manufacturer is the best?

I'm aware of the differences in the speakers/woofers.

regards,

Nitin

No, one cannot say that a particular model of a particular amp is the best amp in the world. The main difference is the 'sound signature' - some sound neutral, some bright (when heard through the same set of components).

Hi DerAlte,

If the difference is mainly sound signature, how come some of the amps are very costly as much as a few thousand dollars, while some are just a couple of hundred dollars with similar power, distortion and impedance ratings?

This is something I still don't understand.

Nitin
