Default Issue with the Blaupunkt amplifier in my Linea

I moved my car recently by car carrier from Delhi to Pune.

On arrival I discovered that the a/c and audio fuse had blown.

At the garage it was discovered that the Blaupunkt 555 5 ch amp had a burnt smell and was shorting the electrics.

Once it was disconnected, everything normalised.

My query is

1) Can the Blaupunkt be salvaged. If so, any reccos on who in Pune can do it? Blaupunkt has no service anymore.

2) If not, advice on a PnP amp to replace it? I have the harness in place which cost me 6K!!

The rest of the system is Rainbow speakers and an 8" Polk audio sub.

Would appreciate advice and thanks in advance

If anyone has a Blaupunkt 555 PnP power amp for sale, please get in touch. I will buy it.

If someone can advise me if any other power amp can work in the Blaupunkt harness it will save me a few bucks..

thanks in advance

I had installed the Blau PnP 475 4channel powering up the EL-6.1 x 2 comps in a friends fiat punto,he faced the similar issue of the amplifier burnt in a few months,on sending it to blaupunkt they advised that the PnP amplifier is not mosfet based like other amplifier, these are IC based amplifiers which were designed to integrate on the OE speakers provided by the OE factory fitted systems for more power-output.

On hearing this i was like in shocked state,as the technician head in autosonics blaupunkt was comparing the higher build quality of factory system with after-market audio products.

Being wise i said yess in his yess, and made his words say "yess boss you are correct 100%" he happily sent me a replacement for the PnP-475,which by tomorrow i am going to install and check the current voltage of the entire system on why it was burnt, where there were no issues in these months and no overheating or clipping and perfectly sounded awesome.

Note:We are using impedance converter in this setup which max out 2.2v

Yess bro!also known as Hi-Low converter,I tested it from soundtech on Digital Multimeter the voltage does not exceed more than 2.2v at full volume on most of the OE headunite.also if you attach to aftermarket HU's of which RCA output's are damaged this does not last for more than a few hours it gets kaput

I would be eagerly awaiting your inputs Ramie! I got a PnP 555 installed in my Punto with the suitable wiring harness and vehicle-specific adapter. Its been working fine so far but no harm in keeping a tab on things..

Thanks all for the inputs especially ramie2400.

Question: Does Blaupunkt still stand by warranty/service amps?

I thought they shut down? In fact I bought this amp last year in a close out.

Any options for amplification besides Blaupunkt?

Bosch service will still honor Blau warranty - try them.
