Which HU?

This 'pausing FF and playing normal for a short while' "preview" would be the implementation method of FF on your HU. One can quickly reach the end of the song otherwise, if this is not done. This has nothing to do with USB 3.0, AFAIK. The behavior would / should be the same with a USB 2.0 pendrive.

I have Pioneer (DVH-3290UB/XNID

As i mentioned, the USB 2.0 works perfect while playing the songs its only the new 3.0 is acting weird.

I just wanted to know if this is something which others have also faced and have found a solution before checking for any hardware issues.

Thanks!

I am facing the exact same issue. I used a Adata USB 2.0 2GB PD in my XUV500 W6(Stock HU) and it played fine. I put the same songs and more in a Sandisk USB 3.0 16GB drive and the songs started skipping. Dont know what the issue is!

Talking REBOOT YOUR CAR AUDIO - Pen Drives : Compatibility issues with Head-Units

Here is something I tried after a few frustrating weeks of formatting and partitioning and buying - just reboot your car audio. (I'm not sure it actually rebooted, but it did clear something).

How? I pulled the accessories fuse (use the fuse puller provided in the fuse box - for Maruti its in the engine compartment fuse box cover) and wait for a few seconds. Put the fuse back in and try your USB drive again.

You could do this by disconnecting the battery too.

For me, this worked.

I am using an Alpine KDE-226BT in my Safari. I regularly switch off the engine at long stops in city traffic.

Problem noticed: The pen-drives I use regularly go bad. These are of different brands & capacity.

Is this a problem specific to the HU that I have ? or is it normal across different brands of HU ?
