Sounds like the Wiring is the culprit here. You've to get the wires seperated and check the monsters are real monsters.

Default Whining sound coming from speakers

Hi,
My speakers have started to give out a high pitched wheee.... sound since a couple of months. The sound is absent when the engine is off but comes on as soon as engine is turned on. The pitch appears to increase with the engine rpm. Though the wheeee.. sound is low enough it is annoying while playing FM or during some silent gaps in the CD.

Interestingly I have observed that the sound goes away when it rains

1. check your RCA wiring
2. does the tone of the whine change when you rev your car?

Try this - turn your stereo on without the engine running. Do you still hear the whine?

Looks like faulty RCAs.

Please do check the gains on your amp.
It shouldn't be over 50%.

Really, because I think they used the cables from Illusion Audio.

It is a alternator whine. You will most probably have to ground the Rca preouts to the HU.This will most probably solve your problem.

So thats an Alternator whine. The more electronic equipment you switch on (read a\c, wipers, headlights) the more audible the whine will be.

The Illusion audio speakers must be the ones used for speakers, the RCAs are used from HU to Amp.

Is it a Pioneer HU??? If yes the solution is usually a straight forward and a DIY - just ground the RCA connectors, it solves the whine.

If it is not a pioneer HU - then the problem is with the cables.

Is the Power Cable running alongside the RCA cables? If yes then make sure the Power and RCA cables run through opposite sides of the car.

If that doesn't solve the problem - upgrade to better quality RCA Cables.

If that doesn't solve the problem - try adding the line noise filter (I've got no idea what it does or what it's for)

I had a pio and the first one did the trick for me...

This whine was not present at the time of installation but is there only from the past 2 months. The RCA cables are Cadence, I think.

So it cannot be cable problem then, could it be loose ground connection at HU?
