Great price. When I checked, it was still at 10+ on Amazon. The installation was done by me. It hardly took much time. Only thing I got added from outside ( from MASS) was the 12V charger inside the glove box.

Default The Dashcam / Car Video Recorder (DVR) Thread

BoneCollector is there any difference between Car Charging Cable and the 12V charger bought by you from MASS??
Transcend is giving Car Charging Cable with it. Is the cable bought by you superior than the one provided by the company.

I guess BoneCollector meant that he got the 12V/120W charger socket from MASS. Not the cable IMO.

Sorry, my bad. I didn't exactly explain. a4anurag is correct. You can see the location of 12V charging point in this post.

Transcend is good, as we can have better warranty terms
But Transcend does not clearly mention the technical specifications. like it does not say about the chip ( Ambarella/Novatek/Allwinner/ etc) and also about sensor( Sony/Omnivision/Etc)

In Ali express/gearbest and other sites , we can see all these details

One can get top end specs like Ambarella A70 with OV4689 for approximately 75 USD ( Rs 5000/ odd)

Is this a good deal or original dashcam? Novatek GT300 for 14.50$. The other option is for $20 which seems to be top seller. I wish to buy it but afraid that 14.5$ is fake or not.

Pretty good dash cam with warranty from Transcend India. Has wifi, gps, snapshot, lane departure and collision alert warning. Built in battery for emergency recording and parking mode. I have removed the stock 16gb card and inserted 64gb. It can store 18 hrs of continuous recording at 720p or 9 hrs at 1080p. Really worth the money. 2 days delivery from Snapdeal. Specs of different dashcams from transcend in below link.

Dockap and Bonecollector can you tell me what you do when your car is parked. I mean every time you detach the dashcam so that it doesnt get stolen or not?? Is it Ok to detach. I dont have any problem as my car is always secured be it at home or office.
As I wanted to know that my car is under sun for approximately under 3 hours i.e. Between 11am-3pm. Will that affect the dashcam or should I detach it when it is under the sun.
Also i will detach the cam when I am on long drive for its safety.

Returning to the idea of dashcams after a while, I find the look of the things has changed. Small black cubes used to be the order of the day.

I rather like the idea of the small-black-cube look. Is it still available at less-than-GoPro prices?
