It's more likely that you'll be charged duty if you select DHL or FedEx. Normal post has never had any problems in my experience so far.

I can see the same in ebay India now, with manufacturer Warranty. Guess this is same.

This was via normal shipping. I am not aware about items getting stuck in customs. Do they ?
I did however received couple of watches via normal post.

Guys need a suggestion regarding hardwire kit for my mini 0805.
I had placed an order for the same from aliexpress last month. The item was costing 6$ including shipping cost. After couple of weeks, seller informed me that the shipment got lost during transit and hence asked me whether i want a refund or they will ship the item again. I opted for the refund and it is on the way.

When i checked the price for similar item in amazon india website it is costing around Rs1080. I did not find this item in any of the other online websites.

Now, i have two options, one to buy from amazon india by paying Rs1080 or get it from amazon US for 6$ (through one of my colleague who is expected to visit us in November). Or can i get this kit from local accessory shop?

Got a G1W-CB from Gearbest.

For 2,200 INR, this cam has great video recording capabilities. But I did not like the quality of the windshield mount. It does not fit as securely as I would have liked.

I did not hardwire the cam, instead I bought a multi socket power outlet and plugged into it. The wiring was routed from the headliner to the A pillar to under the passenger footwell carpet and finally to the centre console where the power outlet is stuck.

Can you please take a closeup picture of this and share with us?

The quality seems good. However I was not able to read the number plate of any car. Is the video uploaded in Youtube a scaled-down version or the original video? Are you able to recognize the number plates in the original video?

During daytime, the numbers are legible. In the video however due to the clips being FF-ed by 4X and YouTube scale-down it may not be very clear.

During night, it's not so clear. But if it's a well lit area and the vehicle is close by, I can pause and zoom the vid a bit to make out the numbers.

Hope that helps, Cheers!

Hey thanks a ton for the detailed response, will go through the threads you mentioned and take a call.

I wish the Govt would make DashCams, Revcams, Auto IVRMs, rear wipers etc mandatory along with ABS + Airbags + EBD etc. Technology when available that too at low costs I wonder why the manufacturers cant plonk it in at-least in the top variants! I know the trend is changing, but it sure is taking a long time.

Give the Yi a miss, out of focus and focus shift issues widely prevalent. Check out the A119 for a sub $100 camera.

SJ Cam Will be excellent in the day but night quality won't be great.

SJCAM is very good. Go for the wireless one. I am using one for the past three years. Under USD 70 I believe

Guys i already have a Transcend drive pro dash cam 100 in the front and am considering a Blaupunkt for the rear. Would this be a good for the rear considering i have a good dash cam in the forward.

I read the quality of videos is not good for the blaupunkt but will it be ok for the rear ? Will it get toast if i leave it in the car continously ?

Are there any more reliable and cheaper alternatives ?

Thanks

Contrary to popular belief, a dash cam in the rear actually needs to be better due to ever-changing and limited lighting during the night. Unfortunately there's no dash cam yet that'll give you legible footage in very low light or darkness. If most of your driving is during the daytime then any model that suffices you're video quality requirements should do. Nighttime is a different story as mentioned.

I have a Mobius in the rear, below are a few videos, you'll get a fair idea as to what to expect and not.

My first criteria was that the dash cam needs to be discreet, which the Mobius fulfills.

I have bought and tested at least 5-6 higher-priced units, and have found this one to be the best in low-light: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Actually, it's picture quality is so impressive - it blows me away as a photographer.

I would upload samples if I had the time - will try in a later post.

However, the backup battery has already gone after a few months (only a few weeks of using it within those few months) - but that doesn't affect the operation too much. Sometimes it doesn't start up automatically, but the video quality is just awesome.
