Hi Guys,

I am now looking for a new high end headunit for my Swift. Preferably a Pioneer. The choices are: -

1. Pioneer FH-P800BT (Dual DIN)
2. Pioneer DEH-P800PRS
3. Pioneer DEH-P980BT

Which among the 3 mentioned above will be the best in terms of sound quality/output and functions?

Oh i forgot to mention, i should be able to connect my ipod to the headunit and be able to control the functions from the headunit itself. Im presently using the Pioneer DEH-P6950UB which has this function.

Hi,
The P800 RS is not direct IPOD but it is IPOD adaptor ready that is again a 5K additional. I am not sure of P800BT and P980BT must be direct IPod connectivity. Are you getting these HU directly from outside India. I think the are available only through the grey channel.

okay since you have no intention of changing the amps try auditioning the JBL P1224 it should be just right for that mono, or get a sub of your choice with same impedence.

can someone guide me to a list of budget installs?

My budget is simple - 10-12k, nothing bling.

Just want something with USB connectivity, decent sound - nothing high volume, just want decent clarity. music types: regular FM stuff, hindi chart numbers, some rock and the occasional metallica. But no low_bass requirement - just decent nice sound for long drives.

Suggestions/links to places to look mightily appreciated.

For budget installs, there's the thread by Navin. Go thru it and you'll have enough options of budget installs.
As I'm posting from my phone, I can't paste the link here.

Sepnd 6K on a good HU from Pio, Blau, JVC etc..
Spend 6K on 4 coax speakers from JBL, Blau, etc..

Avoid SONY XPLOD speakers the more I hear them the more I get mad, still they outsell just about every other brand in India. Now those that know me know that I dont usuaully make such wildly categorical statements but I have yet to hear a XPLOD speaker that I could tolerate. Sorry SONY, your Red stuff still gives me the Blues.

I Had similar budget for my swift's audio,so i went in for the basic pioneer headunit around 5k and JBL GT5 components ~4.5k and its sounds very nice for its price.

Guys,
I got this combination a yr back for 19,000 after reading this forum and it really sounds nice
Pio DEH7950
JBL GTO 607c (front door)
JBL GTO 937 (rear tray)

No i want to add damping ( vibration sound from left door)
New wiring (mouse cut some of the wiring and tweeters were wrongly wired)
Amplifier (to get good quality sound at high volumes)

Please suggest some Options(and cost) for amplifier, wirng and damping according to the speakers/HU?

Budget 10K-12K

I would spend 3-4K on damping the front doors (10 sq. f.t per door) and 6-7k on a 4 ch amp (options abound).

Red face need some Xplod advice

hi all...

i have just purchased a swift lxi and was thinking of car audio now..... so i thought id ask the gurus before heading out to make the investment

i happen to have close contacts in sony, hence i went the sony way for the first enquiry

i was suggested the following-

Head Unit - CDX-GT670US
Rare Speakers - XS-GTX670S
Front Speakers - XS-GTX1620
Subwoofer - XS-L124P5B
Amplifier - XM-ZR604

all this comes up to around 25k
but iam getting it for 19k

so can you guys please take a look at these models and lemme know if its a good buy or not.

also if there are better deals i could go for, please let me know.... i dont mind shifting brands. the only thing iam not so sure bout is the head unit. i was told that 4 volt units are better and this is a 2 volt unit.

thanx gurus
