Why not Kenwood BT7539U. Its got everything which 6539U has plus built in BT.

EDIT:- Didnt see you had listed it as well. 6539U + BT is almost as much as 7539U. And failure rate is news to me. I have been using it for 7 months without issues.

Default Car audio dealers?

Hi,

Would like to know some multi brand dealers and showrooms for good car audio systems in Delhi. Preferrably, West Delhi.

I have an Alto and I am looking for a very good audio system and speakers. I am very fond of music and sound quality and so I would be going for a good quality music system within 7-8 thousand.

If someone could help me with some showrooms which display different audio systems that I can test and hear, it would be great. And some suggestions from the Gurus on the brand that I should go for and what kind of speakers I should buy would be highly appreciated.

Thanks

Hey ethan. Though its not first hand news but i got the same info from this post http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/1148850-post42.html

The OP requirements for the BT are same as mine but the only difference is that he needs a loads of BT features while i would be satisfied with basic call receiving and speakers sounds muting. Dialing and SMSes are not at all important.

I am also thinking of buying the basic ICE setup with a BT adapter compataible HU(6539) and adding the BT adapter a couple of months later. This way i believe i would have decent enough money left for a pair of components for the front and a pair of coaxisels for the rear.

for 7-8 thousand I would suggest the Pioneer3050 HU and JBL coaxials at the front. If budget permits, go for rear speakers from JBL.
You can speak to Gunbir on the forum for advice on dealers.

Some other commercial ICE guys on the forum are listed here:

Need some quick advice Gurus!

I have the following setup in my Swift:-
JBL 607c Compos up front
JBL 637 Co-ax in the rear
JBL CS60.4 amp

I'm planning to add an amp and a sub to this and my budget is 15-20K. Thinking of getting a good 4ch amp for driving the sub and the front compos and either sell the 60.4 or use it to power just the rear coax's. Which amp-sub combo would you guys suggest?

Or should I ditch the 4ch amp, keep the current setup and get a mono / 2ch amp for the sub?

PS: I'll be in Mumbai for a couple of weeks in May - can pickup stuff which is not usually available in Kolkata. Please suggest accordingly.

Cheers

If you get the mono etc.
The sub would over power the compos which already i think aren't too loud.
I'll suggest get a 2 ch and a sub. or a replace the 4 channel with a JBL 1004. Add a jbl sub.
1205 or something for 3.5k.

Power the subs and fronts via the 1004 and leave the HU to power the rears.

Are there any options when it comes to the type of fascia adapters or is it just the ones in LXi/VXi/LDi/VDi ? I am planning to remove the stock HU in my ZXi and install a 1-Din HU and I dont want a gaping hole below my HU. Are there other cool looking adapters?

Default LDI Ice - time for an upgrade

Folks,

I currently have the following setup in my Swift LDI:
HU: Pio 4050UB
Front: JBL GT5 652 2 way coaxials, JBL GTO series tweeters (dont remember the model number)
Rear: JBL GTO 937 on an MDF tray

I had originally planned to upgrade this sooner but got used to the sound (not to mention lazy). However, recently got a good sound station set up at home (Maranz 2 channel amp with a pair of Mordaunt Short towers) and the shortcomings of my car setup suddenly seem a bit too obvious.

I'm now thinking of adding a 4-channel amp and replacing the front speakers with a pair of components. Would appreciate suggestions on this. A budget of 10k or so (pulled out of thin air - I dont really know what prices are like these days). Would appreciate advise on which components and amp, and also on where to get the install done in Mumbai. I mostly listen to rock in the car with bits of heavy metal thrown in.

Many thanks
Jaibir

Got the upgrade done yesterday. Illusion Electras in the front and a JBL 1004 amp. Sounds good. The rears are feeling like the weak link now. Probably have to replace those as well.

Worked out to 22k incl installation and wiring. 6.4k for the speakers. the amp was 9k without warranty, 12.5% extra for a with warranty piece (which I took).

An amplifier always help to produce good sound but it also depends what all hu,speaker you have or are using, which amplifier you are getting. if you install the amp on the existing setup you will sure like it as compared to what you are hearing know.

post the detail of your current setup like which head unit, front and rears speakers you have.

Get a comparatively low cost 4-channel amp from Blaupunkt (GTA4 Mark II), JBL (GT5-A504 or A604), Kenwood (8401 or similar) or even Pioneer. It will make a world of difference in your setup (even with Sony speakers). The main difference would be the dynamic range you will hear.
