check the thread by hellstar; similar requirement.

for center speaker also look at the Pionner one in case you want to go for single din lcd.

If you get compos for dont connect the tweeters.

You would need to damping for Swift.

start here -> Plan your budget!

Any Pioneer HU of your choice along with JBL CS2165C at front door and JBL2165 at rear door will do a good job.Prices are depend upon where you are buying as with B&W its bit more and grey is cheaper but dont comes with any warrenty.

Just my .02, but I for one have never quite got the whole 6x9 in the Swift concept.

For starters, the parcel shelf of the Swift is very narrow and 6x9s barely fit on the damn thing. Plus they end up so close together (width wise) that they end up screwing the front sound stage in a major way.

Most Swift installs I have heard with 6x9s had very little significant output gain over others that had 6.5" coaxials in the rear doors.

At the end of the day, the extra money one spends on the 6x9s, the parcel shelf etc... is better utilized elsewhere IMHO.

Bought JBL GTO1260BR along with GTO301.1 and getting it done in next 10 days(going out of town). Still its huge pack is not opened .
One question for Sam, is it 4 oms and single coil woofer or can we change the impedence if its dual one.
BTW Sam seen in US JBL site that the existing GTO series Amps are available with Mark 2 name like GTO 75.4 Mark2, GTO 301.1 Mark2 etc so they going to get launched in India too?

Guys

Atlast I have decided to get a simple music system, unable to manage my kid in the car, who always touches something or the other and distracts me.

I am planning to go for a simple system with Four speakers on the doors in my SWIFT. I want the rear tray to be empty to keep his toys etc. Hence need your kind inputs for utilizing the door speaker provision and a comfortable HU. "Home minister" is interested in filmi music, soft ones and my kiddie is interested in his fav Rhymes et all. Me as long as they dont disturb me I am ok with any kind of music.

Would appreciate if you can lend me your thoughts on my requirements. Max stretchable budget should be 12 - 13 K.

Thanks for all your help

Head Unit : Sony Xplold : CDX-GT460US (Rs.8990)
Speaker Front : Sony Xplold :XS-V1642A(Rs 2990) / XS-GTF1625B(Rs 1700)

20K is a good budget but you wont be include a subwoofer or amp on that budget without some serious compromises.

I would advise you to get a good HU from Pioneer, Alpine, Kenwood, Blaupunkt, etc.. and mate them to some speakers from JBL, Illusion, Hertz, Blaupunkt, etc. You can even afford components in the front and rear for this budget.

HU: 6K Pioneer, Blaupunkt, Kenwood or JVC
4 coax Speakers: 7K JBL GT5 or Blaupunkt GT

an alternate is to spend a bit more (8K) on speakers from JBL GTO, Hertz or Illusion and get a basic HU from Pio, Blaupunkt etc. for 5K.

Navin,

Thanks for your reply. Would JBL GTO/GT5 work wonders or do I need any more dampening on the doors to be done. I am wary about the performance on the doors of swift.

And w.r.t the HU, Would appreciate if any model works with USB port ?

Thanks

I think you should first get speakers that make the difference in damping felt. OEM speakers are not very good.
