As some of you know, I am in the process of restoring my S1.
Now comes the ICE.
I am a true enthusiast, and have brillinat SQ set ups in all the cars that i have had.
I do not think that a car like the S1 should have a bad sound set up.

Pictures soon to follow.

I need some advice on front speaker placement options.
I was thinking of the kick panels. Do you guys have any other recomendations?
Should i go in for components or co-axials up front?

Rear fill would be with 6x9 speakers.

A pioneer HU with 3 pre-outs

I will be using a JBL 4 channel amp
Front 2 channels powered by the amp
channels 3 and 4 bridged to power an mtx 12" subwoofer in a sealed enclosure.

I need advice and help regarding the front speaker location.
Please help me :)

Flush mounted in the door, there is plenty of space there, get the denter to do it in the restoration stage itself.

Can only comment on the spot to fix the front speakers, Kick Panel is the apt choice considering the neatness of the setup. You won't be able to hide the speaker cable if you do plan to put it up on front door panels. Also with time, water will slip (believe me you can't prevent it even with new window garnish beading) inside the door during rains & will surely damage the speaker unit.
Just my 2 cents :)

If you really like SQ, then might as well invest in a Component, but if you are not gonna be using it that much then co-axial would be the right choice

So, i have decided the following:

Focal co-axials, on axis in the kick panels
Kick panels to be fibre glassed by me over the weekend.
Rear fill would be JBL 6x9s
Amplifier -un decided
Subwoofer: Mtx road thunder in a sealed enclosure.

Power wire: Finolex 18mm sq pure copper wire.
RCA interconnects: Connection Audison
