Hi Ashish,
It plays .divx files and i was able to play such files without any issues.
I used "any video converter" to convert my video files to this format.

What is the error you get on the player?

Cheers,

I have the 8590BT and have never faced this issue, it plays right from the point where it was stopped when switching off. You should get it checked with another installer maybe.

Just got a 8490bt From a friend. what resolution and formats does it support to play videos off the sd card input. i understand that to play video off the iPod you need a separate cable.

I also wanted to know what the difference between the 8490 8590 and 8690 is. i might be swapping this out for the 8690 so would like to know if it's worth the upgrade.

For videos: - whether SD card or USB - the container format and Encoding should both be in MPEG-4 (MP4)

For playing videos off the ipod you need a special cable - see picture below to choose the specific cable for your ipod version

imho - look at the feature comparison and ask yourself if it's worth it.

Bump

Switched out the 8490 for an 8690 today. is anybody here using app radio or mirror link on their pioneers? The only gripe i have with the new unit is that it takes a few seconds to boot up compared to the almost instant response of the 8490bt and that there is no physical button to change the source or turn off the unit.

Just set up mirror link on the 8690BT with a nokia n8. The only cable required is the usb cable the phone came with. It must be connected to the USB 2 port on your avhx. you will have to but the mirror link app from the nokia store though @ 250rs. when not in the app you get full mirroring of your phone screen, the nokia is old so response is slow but gets the job done.

Guys,

Im facing a new weird issue with the newly sourced set:
i Own an AVh-X8690BT. today while using the car, the USB just turned off on its own. then my IPOD starting playing instead. (the set has two USB ports). then that turned off as well and it switched to my Bluetooth audio.

when i thought that was funny, i switched the car off and then turned it back on, my HDMI, and dual USB both arent working anymore. i thought it was a port issue, so when i connected the ports directly to the IPOD (without the USB cable extension) the USB power is still on but the player is not detecting any music folders or the traditional pioneer logo on my IPOD doesnt come up.

so basically, i still have power going on via the USB ports, but no detection of USB or HDMI or APPRADIO.

wat do you guys think it is? a pioneer software fault? i tried resetting the microprocessor today reading the manual but even after the reset there is no change.

any ideas?

BTW.. for the guys who arent able to play your videos even if your set is DIVX compatible, follow the process below:

You will need a video converter ( AVS Video Converter) for your windows PC.

setup the below options as per the screenshot below (in attachments) and then convert the video.

enjoy your video on the Pioneer set after
