Anyone interested in brand new LRx 1.400 and LRx 4.300 at attractive negotiable rates do PM me... I am likely to receive the amps in a week or two from abroad.
Considering you got them at 25% off the list price, there should be a lot of takers for the amp, and I don't think you will have to lose a lot of money like LBM is saying.

What do you plan to buy in place of them? Maybe you could swap them with the dealer you bought them from?

I would know my cost price only once I receive them here. Overall I don't think the difference would be that much.

I got them through a known person, in whose car I heard these and was floored. He offered to get me a pair. The amps are purchased and are waiting for someone to bring it to India, probably in a week or two...

ST, follow what I said in post 298.

I think any move you make (incl sellling those amps) before doing that will be a mistake. Those amps are good amps.

Someone is doing you a favour by getting them into India. The favour was meant becuase we intended to use the amps not sell them. Maybe you can offer the amps to the same friend who is getting them for you. Still i would suggest following the advise in post 298 before doing even this.

Very few OEM HUs have pre outs. It requires some dexertity as well as voiding of any guarantees on the HU to create preouts.

I am closing this thread till ST decides what to do.

ST PM me when you decide to
a) use the OEM HU
b) use another HU

OK after a detailed consideration, and inputs from many of you, I have decided to retain both the amps.

Now coming back to the choice of speakers...
Which Subwoofer should I go for along with Audison LRx 1.400 which produces 900W RMS @ 1 ohm???

I have narrowed my choice to following subs... (all are in the range of Rs. 27-33k)
1. IDMAX 12" d2v3 - Not sure if this is available in India or abroad at the moment
2. Adire Brahma 12"
3. Adire Brahma 15"

Many people say that Brahma has better SQ than IDMAX due to the extremely linear BL curve and would go for Brahma than IDMax.

Does anybody deal with Adire Audio in India???

I don't think I will be able to ever hear up these woofers and will have to go with the tech specs and the reviews... :(

Considering that the difference between a 12" and 15" Brahma will only be abuot Rs. 2000, is it better to go for 15" for my application???

The websites of all the three speakers are
IDMAX 12" - http://www.imagedynamicsusa.com/tech...e=sub&id=idmax

Brahma 12/15" - http://www.adireaudio.com/Mobile/BrahmaSeries.htm

Please help me in deciding, I will be placing the order in next 2-3 days!

I wrote to Adire and this is what they wrote back to me...

Iíd recommend a Brahma 15D4, wired in parallel, to get a good solid 500W into the driver. With a 90 liter box tuned to 30 Hz youíll get full output, very deep and powerful sound, and it would be a great match to your amp (more power isnít required to reach full output).

Since he is refering to a box tuned to 30hz, I guess he is talking about a ported box... Isn't it?

At 2 Ohms my amp will give 650 Watts RMS and
at 1 ohm it will give 900 RMS

Considering that I think I would rather prefer to go for Brahma 15 D2 so that I can extract the full 900W of the amp if requried in a sealed enclosure. Or I can reduce the gain on the amp and still safely run it at 500W in the enclosure recommended above. Correct???

yes they are reffering to a ported box....but 90 liters is a big size nearly two 12 inch volume...but the sound will be mind blowing if you get a 90 liters box....

I would say go for any of the option dual 4 ohms or dual 2 ohms...

go for a ported box it will sound great and louder than the sealed.....

ST!!!! Nice to see you back in action.

I have'nt heard Brahma so can't actually comment on it.
ID Max!!! Aaaaaahhhh, I did hear it once and it sounded awesome!!! But, I'll consider it too expensive and would rather buy a IDQ or V3. But, if you've got the muscle power (greens), then hit it man!! It will do a good job with the LRX.

I think you should stick with a sealed Box, unless you want a louder bass. Sealed ones are more recommended by ICE manufacturers.

And if you do want to go vented/ported/bandpass etc, then make sure you tune it to 30hz as said earlier. Dont do a compromise on it.

I was just trying to judge the box size...

90 ltr is a huge huge size!

I think the max I will be able to accomodate will be 1.75 to 2 cu ft (50-57 ltr).

Now in that size box I am sure that the 15" Brahma will not reach full excursion with 900 watts, I'd sealed.

Can someone who is familiar with a speaker modeling software model this for me and suggest which size woofer and what type of box will be best suitable with say 850 watts RMS.

The speaker specs are available at http://www.adireaudio.com/Mobile/BrahmaSeries.htm

Thanks

ST see if you can download BoxPlot 3.0.

Also given that the 12"'s Vas is 1/3 that of the 15" woofer and the Fs and Qts numbers are not that different you might be better of using 2 x 12D4s and run them series/parallel.

No Sam,
18" x 18" x 18" also is only 2.59 cu ft, i.e 73.3 Ltrs (using .75" Board, excluding speaker displacement.
This would be more like 18 x 18 x 22... for 90 ltr displacement

I downloaded WinISD and had some success in modelling the woofers. But I don't have much clue on how to read those graphs. Any links on simple interpretation on these...

Also a 15" costs only 2-3k more than the 12" that is why I was considering it. And considering that each Sub will cost around 30k, two 12" will be well beyond my budget...

Also the Sub is 40 pounds(12") or 43pounds (15"), that along with a huge box, would just become too heavy to lift!

I think finally my ICE itself will weigh beyond 60kgs...

I thoguht those graphs were self explanatory. See if you can download PDFs from LinearX (makers of LEAP/LMS) I understand they had pretty good documentation.

60kgs is about right for a subwoofer+box.

Is this a 0 Gauge wire kit...?
It says it is a 0-4Ga Dual Amp power kit and can handle 3200Watts, but the wire thickness looks less...

Does it look good for my installation of 2 amps (total about 1400 W RMS, but I want to go with one higher thickness size than recommended)?

Scosche E3200 E2
* e2 Dual Amplifier Heavy Duty Wiring Kit

Where are all the audio gurus?

Please help me, I need to buy a dual amp power kit. Can you please clarify my doubt below, and also name some good companies...

Note: Order placed for Adire Brahma 15" Sub.
It is quiet impressive with an excursion of 27mm and patented XBL2 motor for linear control. People swear by it's SQ and it's SPL. I would reserve my opinion till I hear it
