Ok, here’s a teaser… my New Year contribution for other ICE-addict souls

What all went in…
Two Audison Amplifiers LRx 4.300 (400W RMS) and LRx 1.400 (900W RMS)
LRX 1.400 in the box

LRx 4.300 (visually exactly same as 1.400)

Didn’t have camera with me for a while so could not take out of the box pics of all other equipment – they are all during install pics with lot of dust

6.5” Hertz HSK 165 Front Components

15” Adire Brahma Subwoofer with XBL2 technology

Full Scosche Wiring – including 0 gauge main power supply cables & 8 gauge Sub wiring

72 sq ft Dynamat Extreme for Damping

As of now I am retaining the Honda OEM (Alpine) Head unit… which includes a 6 CD changer MP3/WAV player… just for the looks of it and the way it integrates with the ultra-sexy Civic Dash. Sound wise also it is decent but has virtually no tuning option…

I am planning to change the 4ch amp, which is currently running in 2 channel bridge mode (dedicated to front speaker) to 4 channel mode to power the rear speakers also (family is returning this weekend).

Also I am planning to wire the DVC Sub in series @ 4 ohm-350W (presently wired in parallel at 1 ohm-900W). The sub pounds like deep and crazy. At about 30% volume, if you are sitting on the rear seat the vision starts getting blurred

The sub goes to subsonic levels where you can feel the vibration (and things resonating around you) but still not hear anything...(no more smileys left).

Earlier the entire setup was tuned to reach it's full potential without getting into clipping, but there is lots of power and the system goes very loud & clean. I am now worried that there is too much SQ-SPL, which is very tempting to pump-up, so decided for this re-setup along with gain reduction.

That is some serious bass! Now more than ever, be really careful with that sub! And here's hoping your wife won't notice anything ;-)

Man! With you and your wife like this, I wonder how your son is going to be a few years from now. I know he's already on the path to young geekdom with his computers and all...

You want to change a setup which was just done sometime ago? Why?
If it's playing clean, then it's better left alone. Ain't it? Or is there something You're not happy with in terms of sound?
